Perhaps I'm not being clear...

I'm looking for a character which will reward me for having the dedication to learn an extra character with an advantageous matchup against Metaknight. Is there any character that has an advantageous matchup against Metaknight?

No just even matchups. falco is 50:50 if you can camp perfectly and get grabs in.

I hate people (not really) who want to ban MK vary many of them are noobs at heart.
smart players know that MK can be beat if you play smarter and know the match up. m2k is extremely smart put that with tech skill and you have a amazing player there you go and thats why hes #1

M2K wins with MK all the time M2Ks thinking and smartness (mindgames) comes a long way all the way from melee beat that lol. for all you who want to ban MK the better player always wins just accept that they are better than you. like sheik on melee really anoying but if you are better than them you will always win.

o MK winning all the time put him on the top of the tier list
many amazing players use him there for making him great mabe if all the amazing players used falco or DDD
they would be top tier .

tell me what you think im very open minded

what do i do to wreck yoshi's second jump and off stage?
Dair if he challeneges with his Uair, because he doesn't have super armour and I think MK's Dair will out prioritize Yoshi's Uair if its spaced. If he doesn't attack he will have super armour. You can beat this by just spamming jump to get a footstool.

How do you apporach a lucario and how do you play him? Is the point to grab him alot or maybe keep him in the air or stay in the air while approaching?

I try to shield as much as possible as I approach. especially against Fsmash, and then I try to stay inside of him so he can't spam spheres.

How do you smash DI out of Snake's Nair? This is the only move that I'm having trouble with because it has insane knock back and racks damage like crazy. Snake's Dair is a pain OoS sometimes, so I'd like to know how to smash DI that one too.

Thanks

To properly DI out of Snakes nair, smash DI up if he is falling down while doing the move.
If he isn't falling down and instead is rising when he gets you in the move, I've personally escaped it by smash DI'ing up and towards snake (Top corner) to escape the last hit
As for his Dair OoS, DI'ing up is deff best (His Dair will never get all 4 hits in), and should give you a free Dair,

Look right there. SDI and Uair = No more Nair

Note: Match is a joke, but at least something interesting came from it :p
You can Nair as well without even SDIing out. I don't think it can be buffered thoguh cuz the only way i could do it was to spam A as fast as i could. I assume theres like 1 or 2 frames to do it in.

Also, assuming the wario air releases, Is grab release to Fsmash a combo?

im pretty sure wario can jump before the f-smash hits due to startup time allowing it.if he air releases at low percent i think its recommendable to star an uair chain or if he is at higher percents to nair him.you can also shuttle loop if you think it might kill him or put you in a highly advantageous position.

Ill test this right now and come back with the results

So I just tested nair'ing snakes nair, and I couldnt even do it once? am i not pressing it fast enough?

I think its soo much better to SDI up, because not only can the DI let you escape the dreaded kicks, but adding the C-stick (SDI) can also give you an uair which not only gets you out of the move, but can also do some damage on snake and set up a juggle.

Any tips on dair camping? I really suck at it :/
Space horizontally, not just vertically

Mix up the timing of you Dairs and jumps. People tend to Dair immediately after their jump then wait till they fall before they Dair again. in other words jump > Dair immediately > Wait > jump > Dair immediately etc. It gets really perdicable, good opponents will see this and jump up and Uair you after your Dair. I like to mess around with the timing so they don't punish me. I somtimes do Jump > Dair immediately > jump > Dair immediately. However, you will end up high in the air, too high to pressure their shield. This is just good as a mix up if they are punishing a perdictable pattern.

If they are spot dodging your Dairs I usually just tornado, although there are other options. instead of Dair just air dodge into the ground and wait for their spot dodge to be over and punish.

If they try to outprioritize you with an Utilt or Usmash be very careful of your spacing. I like to just air dodge though their attack into the ground and punish with a SH Nair (lots of damage), although you can punish with pretty much anything. Also, I'm just theorizing (i.e. never tried this), but you could probably dimensional cape attack in this situation. It does 14% which is more than most of MK's attacks. This might piss your opponent off too, would is always great in a tournament match .

Edit: For some characters, Dair camping doesn't work well, that might be your problem.

What are good ways to kill with MK? ?I'm tired of losing because My opponent is at 150% while he can kill me at like 75%

And please go into more detail than just "gimp him". Any good setups to kill?

D-smash, Shuttle loop, N-air (If they're close to the edge,) U-air when they're high in the air. As for set-ups, D-throw > F-smash useually works the first time you do it, than they expect it.

well if you're dying at 75%, learn to DI and Momentum cancel....Basically, you cannot be good without DI
Theres an in depth article on DI in the tactical discussion

There are a couple ways to kill with MK
Gimping is huge, dair off stage **** hard
shuttle loop in the air kills near the edge at low percents
f-smash to punish spotdodgers
SAVE DSMASH TILL THE END

Why use a 6 frame move on the ground when you can use a 4 frame move (FTILT/DTILT)

Idk, it really isnt too hard to kill with MK, I mean he is the best character in this game

It's just that everyone camps like hell against MK, so it's hard to land kills.

if you are dying at 75% then your DI must be HORRIBLE

So...Hi guys...I'm DTL...
Well, here's my story. I have always LOVED Zelda games and anything Zelda related. In SSB, I mained Link. In SSBM I mained YL. In Brawl, I main Toon Link. The thing is, I don't know how happy I am with this... I'm getting more and more active in the tournament scene and I just perform so well when I CP Meta...Regardless I'm a dedicated and active member of the Toon Link community...It's just that...well I even find MK much more fun to play. I don't have to camp, I can switch between agro and defense during matches seamlessly, and I don't have to wait to kill good players around 200%... What I'm trying to say is...How would you guys recommend I play MK in tournaments, as well as Tink, but stay a real Toon Link main? I know this sounds extremely Scrubbish, but with Supercon coming up I really want to focus more on Meta... I'll probably just start every match with TL and switch to MK if I lose a game. Sorry for the rant...

GLIDE ATTACK
hits on frame: 5
landing lag: standard landing lag; either 2 or 4 frames
shield hitlag differential: -2
shield stun: 3
optimal shield advantage: -3 hard landing | -1 soft landing
optimal shield drop advantage: +4 hard landing | +6 soft landing

From the frame data thread....

How long does it take for metaknight to regain control if forced to glide attack far away from the ground?
I don't really care how long the hitbox is out but I was wondering how long he is locked into the attack.

I was exaggerating when i said 75 >_>

I actually die at more like 90/100, but what i'm focusing on right now is KILLING.

Is there a list of all of the Grab release combos MK has on characters? If not, what grab release combos do you know, excluding wario?

btw, this is assuming the air release, I know you cannot always force them too.
