Melee Tournament In Gta!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone, finally an ultimate Super Smash Brothers Melee tournament will take place in the GTA. With Brawl coming out in the near future, the King of Smash in Toronto will finally be crowned and will receive a $1000 cash prize! This tournament is tentatively scheduled for Sunday December 16, 2007, so make sure you sign up as soon as you can.

This is for serious competitors and players only. $1000 will go to the winner of this 16-player tournament and smaller cash prizes will go to second and third place.

Overview: This tournament will be comprised of 16 players. It will be a single player, one on one tournament with 8 matches in the first round, four matches in the second round and two matches in the third round. The two losers of the third round will face off for third place while the winners of the third round will duke it out for the Grand Prize.

Details: The first, second and third rounds will consist of each player having 5 stock. There will be no time limit to the match, as the match will end when one player has lost all of their 5lives. The third place match will be fought at 7 stock and the match for number one will be fought at 10 stock. All matches will take place at Hyrule Temple, as it is a stable and big stage and also all weapons will be turned off. Numbers 1-16 will be placed in a bag and players will one by one pick out a number and thus matches will randomly be determined. Whoever draws 1 will face whoever draws 2, 3 will face 4, 5 will face 6, etc... It will be best 2/3 for each match-up and winners will move on to the next round.

Prizes and fees: The Grand Prize for the winner of the tournament will be $1000! Second place will receive $400 and third place will receive $200. You must pay $100 to enter into this tournament. Only very skilled players are encouraged to enter.

Time/date/location: The tournament will take place on December 16, 2007 at 2 PM in North York. It will be inside my apartment. Once you sign up, you will be informed of the address and will receive my phone number.

What you should bring: Controllers will be provided, but you may bring your own controller if you wish. Make sure you bring your $100. Participants who don’t bring the money for the entrance fee will not be permitted to play in the tournament.

Instructions: If you are interested in participating in this ultimate tournament, email me at raj.tab@gmail.com. Write “Smash Bros.” in the subject line. Email me your first and last name, your phone number and the character you will use throughout the tournament. The character that you email me will be the character you MUST use on the tournament day. After you email me, I will phone you and give you more details on the location of the tournament and so on. I advise that you sign up as soon as you can, as the first 15 people (I will be the 16th entrant, and my character will be Fox) who email me will be included in the tournament. There will be a waiting list of 7 people in case someone drops out as the tournament date approaches.

You can email me or post on this thread any questions, comments or concerns. I will respond either way.

I look forward to meeting the best smashers Toronto has to offer and on December 16, 2007, an undisputed King of Smash will be crowned!!!!!!!!!!!!

this aint for little kids who play for fun, this for who thinks their THE MAN at smash and ppl complaining about the 100 know they'll lose it so they shouldnt enter. Again, ONLY if your SKILLED enough please enter as then you have a shot at the money. Ill be telling ppl who enter where I live and my number so the only scam here is that the best r coming to play.

Plus its only $100 entry fee cause then it makes for a $1000 prize. If its lowered to like 10 bucks then the prize is only 100 and theres basicaly no second and third prizes.

why not (idea) just say anyone can enter (rather than a 16 cap) and have the entry fee at an affordable amount like, oh, $20 if you want to be ritzy. nobody's going to enter if it's $100 entry fee.

edit: i read the ruleset. you haven't been in competitive smash for very long, have you. you do realize in standard competition Hyrule Temple is banned for several very, very good reasons, right? the fact that your character is Fox in combination with Hyrule being the only legal stage leads me to believe that this is in fact a scam. the no time limit deal furthers my suspicions. add the ridiculous charge for entry and we have a very shady appearance.

change the ruleset and entry fee if you're actually serious. if this is a scam, then kindly fvck off. if you are simply ignorant then please familiarize yourself with standard tournament fare before you post a tournament suggestion.

Already two ppl let me know they want to do it. Im flexible, if u guys want a different stage and less money im cool with it. But i want a big prize though cause that makes it more intense. I'' play at any stage, just though Hyrule Temple was the fairest. So whatever, if u guys want to change some of the rules fine its not set in stone. What do u guys say about $40 to enter and the prize is 500 for first, 80 for second and 60 for third. The stage could be whatever, im thinking Final Destination.

THIS IS NO SCAM. I live in North York and I think I'm the best at Smash and wanted to face others who think their the best. 16 ppl make for a good tournamnet, so so far its me and two others. I can wait till it fills up or if u guys r so insistent that its too much money to get in then i have no problem changing the amount. But Im serious about this tournament, i want to face the best cause i beleieve i am the best. So if u guys want we can put it to 40 instead of 100 but the cash prize is lower then. If u guys want to go lower than 40, then the winner and 2nd and third place wont get very much in my opinion. I said 100 cause this was gonna be a one time deal but if we put it lower then i guess we can do it more often. Im 22 years old and have my own apartment so i can set up tournamnets any time.

I read a couple of ppl on this thread saying they want to do it (Lanowen and Wigi). If their serious, that'll make it up to 5 ppl so far, including me. I can switch the stage to Final Destination or any other stage that u guys think is fair. If the 100 is too expensive, it can be lowered Im reasonable. Anyone who thinks thy can beat me i want to enter. My character is Fox and i think ill beat anyone on this website one on one even though I dont play too much. Maybe Im wrong but thats how i feel. So again, if Lanowen and Wigi r serious its up to 5 under my original setup. 3-5 ppl in a few hours isnt that bad. But again, im flexible with the rules. Nothings set in stone and ill do whatever u guys feel is fair, it doesnt matter to me i think i can win under any conditions. I got Wigi's email and if ur serious Lansowen then email me or u can give me ures and il contact u. For the rest of u state what u think is reasonable and we can do it.

Why don't you just come out to one of the local tournaments held by someone who actually knows what he's doing. Check out Dragon_Hawk's biweekly thread, go to one of those and then challange everyone you want.

If you want high stakes I'm sure you'll find someone willing to have a match with you for $100.

In fact, I think you'll find a lot of people willing.

This reminds me of the tournament i will be hosting soon in january. The entry fee will be a solid gold piece (0.5 lbs), we'll be playing roy dittos on icicle mountain, 4 stock of course. GRAnd PRIZe winner will take my beautiful sister (or brother, hey dragon hawk) and do what they please. second place gets their ugly friend that stops by.

Sit down, Chris. XDDD

Why not use like.. 400 of that money or something for a proper venue man. Having a tournament in an apartment is laughable.

do you have any idea why hyrule is NOT the fairest? The answer is fox. He can just run away all day. The fact that your tournament rules says no time limit, the match can last forever.

Kso,

I am going to say same things, assuming you are not a joke account.

1. Since you have almost no posts, and you just joined 2 days ago, you have never been to a tournament.
2. Since above, you have no idea how a tournament works.
3. You probably can't beat anyone on these boards.
4. You really don't know anything about the game or skill level you are dealing with.
5. If you have this tournament somehow with people from these boards, you will get eliminated first round, straight up.

You should save that $100 for yours, and go to some other tournaments. That way, you get at least 25-50 matches minimum, instead of your 1 match at your tournament.

Others along with myself would be very willing to let you lose to us badly sometime before the start of your tournament to show you what you missed the past 5 or so years of smash.

You are hella late, brawl is going to be out in a couple months.
