hm just gotta try to win still! you'll mess up some stuff of course, but both players are dealing with the lag so ur still on equal ground. its laggy melee, but if both players are playin laggy melee it's still fair haha

Hi social thread. Guess what! It is magic trick time!
This trick is performed by one of the best magicians on youtube... me ;D
Lol enjoy.

Good stuff. I saw your Lennart Green post in here. He's one my top three favorite card magicians. I practice a little bit myself, but I'm not good at all and I've never performed in front of a lot of people, only friends, and that's a big part of practice. So I'm not all that good. I like to practice weird color changes a lot. although I haven't practiced much in several months.

That's not too hard Dots ;)

And wow MTKO. I didn't know you were a practitioner of magic :) I love meeting new people who perform lol. Ya I am getting rusty with my tricks but I still pull out the cards on occasion. Maybe you can show me some of your tricks at Genesis2 (if you can attend)

Edit: Also Kage. I started watching that stream. Cool stuff. but one thing made me laugh pretty hard. My "Ads by Google" was in pure Japanese...
thanks to my translator, I now know that it was an add trying to get me to go to a Japanese school O.o

Well played google.

Definitely, you'll be blown away by my poor handling skills and bad angles :D
I really want to attend Genesis. I'm going to be moving into my new place in Riverside on the 16th and hopefully if I find a job making enough to pay my my rent and for food and I have money left over, I can find a way to get there. I won't have a car for quite a while, but if I have the money and I'm able to take the time off I'd like to go.

I have another question: does anyone know if Japan is still actively playing Melee?

Actually Toph went to Japan and played with Cpt.Jack/Bombsoldier and stuff.. he said they were all really good still.
Cool. But CJ is more into Brawl now, right?

It's weird how you hear so little about Japan. Was there ever a youtube channel where Japanese stuff got centralised?

I thought of a new way to do USA vs Armada matches

three falcons, one red, one white (pink), one blue, vs armada, ffa style, lip sticks on high

And Kage. I am garbage vs IC's! Unless I am doing teams ;)
Plus I will destroy you.

there are a couple channels... ssbbmania1 (not sure, but thats where i watched a lot of brawl), and westsmash. westsmash uploads almost entirely brawl but just recently a few melee videos of kou, kei, s-royal, mars...

i dont think cj ever got into brawl. bombsoldier did, idk if he still plays at the pro level though.

I played against random at uni today (again) and at the end I won against the "better" player. None of them knew advance techs and they were eventually really easily readable. I found wavedash backwards fsmashing efficient against them but would it also be against decent/good players? Also I can't play falco as I feel he's too slow horrizontally. Is it just me or I was doing something wrong?
For now my fox is my best char I guess. What do people mean when they say he's hard to use? Is it a matter of techskill?

Wavedash back Fsmash only really works if your opponent jumps in on you. If Fox likes to shffl nair shine you for example, it's pretty good if you read it, but maybe you'd want to grab him instead.

Okay thanks. I guess it only works against noobs who always dash attack lol.
I wouldn't say that. Almost everything works in this game when applied correctly at the right time in the right situation.
At the same time, there's no one tactic that just "works against good players." You always have to watch your opponent, read him and react accordingly.

Wavedash Fsmash can be really good (especially with Marth), but don't just use it "because it works," use it when it's a good idea to use it.
