I was bored the other day and came across THIS SITE.

Being way too obsessed with this game, I naturally decided to make a Pokemon card for a Melee character. I started out with Falco cause he's my main and I may do some others when I get time, but I figured I'd post to see what other people come up with. :D

I'll keep a list here:

This would be fun to proxy pokemon and yugioh cards with smash related things and actually play games against each other with full decks.

Why is everyone doing yugioh and not pokemon?? I haaate reading yugioh cards.

Magic is pretty awesome but I dunno if there's an easy online card generator and Idk how many people have played magic compared to pokemon.

Actually I think pokemon cards is the best for it because you get to name the moves. Happy feet as flipping 4 coins is brilliant

Magic *****.

Pokemon is a good medium for this. Yugioh's upside is that fusion monsters can be done as teams. Like, you could have El Chocolate Diablo = fusion monster of Ken + Isai.

If people took this semi-seriously and refrained from making dead cards I'd be down.

jigglypuff
Should be an effect monster.

Found a decent magic card maker that I downloaded. Doubt others will do anything with this format, but I really do like how Magic cards are organized.

Someone should post the Peach Yugioh card.

Go google it if you're curious.

How come Cactuar's Fox untaps opposing creature? Does he like to make it harder for himself or something?

In short, yes.

Longer: it's mostly to do with his idiosyncrasies regarding how he approaches combos. He's said (numerous times) his favourite kinds of combos are the ones where the opponent is not completely locked in stun or limited to tech options. He likes it when the opponent is given the impression of having options but they get hit anyway.

I'd find the post(s) but I'm far too lazy to dredge through everything.

Untapping their creature during the combat step always gives them at least 1 option. Which I felt captured this (very unique) aspect of his play.

Kandoken on deviantart. The picture is called "Cactuar's Fox". Volt Kreuger from The Bouncer had a leather jacket with that on the back. I also have a hoodie with that on the back.

Lol do the fake Pokemon cards actually have to say they're fakes?

It only really works for Cactus.
Probably just did it because it'd be pretty easy for kids to fake actual Pokemon cards. They give you directions on the site on how to print them out and attach them to the front of actual cards to make them seem even more real. Might also be a legal issue so they don't get sued as a fake card distributor or something.

Cactuar pic is EPIC.

You ought to turn Transform into continuous and have it work both ways (Sheik to Zelda and Zelda to Sheik). Maybe put a restriction like "once per turn you can." Also, it might have been a typo, but you mean "OR sacrifice a 'Zelda' monster?" Otherwise if you meant "and" then the card is way too overcosted to play.

Where did you get the picture KK? xD
I actually went all out and included the artist in the spot where the artist would be listed.

Kage I should make a full set and then we should draft it with other people hahaha

edit: Kage, I have a keyword for this set I may try:

Technical Skill (during your upkeep, you may have your opponent name a type of card [artifact, enchantment, creature, land, sorcery, instant, planeswalker]. Reveal all cards of the chosen type.)

Then after doing that, you get an effect of some kind. Like, if you have a creature it might get some kind of stat buff. Or your enchantment's effect might get buffed.

I'm not sure a type of card is good, though, because that allows the opponent interaction and technical skill is a fairly solitary thing you can practice yourself. Maybe "technical skill: X" where you reveal X cards from your hand at random or something. Cards with better effects will have higher X cost. Of course, that means a lot of hand management is important, which would be weird because that means you're playing conservatively and technical skill (IMO) is a big enabler for reckless play.

Bleh. Mechanics are hard hahahaha

That's a good idea, I didn't really think of that. I guess the main reason I wrote it the way I did, was because of how I made sheik's effect. I thought it might be a little too powerful to allow it to have an easy cost, so I made it's cost a lot. I think I'll rework it after I finish some more cards.

We just turned Melee discussion into yugioh discussion lol.

Nobody plays Zelda.

So it's just a normal spell card.

Fox should be a monster that enables other plays. And probably something that can be special summoned. He's not slow by any means in the game and his card should reflect that.

Yeah I was thinking of making him have a costly summoning condition, but having two effects:

Once per turn you may use one of the following effects:

1. You may remove from play one monster on your opponents side of the field. "Fox" can not attack this turn.

2. Return one spell card from your graveyard to your hand.

I think both of these effects ensure that gameplay will be quick when fox is on the field because he has effects that give you more options each turn.
