Matchup Chart Project 2015 - Calling Kirby Mains!

Hello Kirby boards,

I'm Zareidriel. Over in this thread a guy called Assassannerr made a matchup chart, and asked people to help fill it out. It seems like it would be a cool thing to have. With once glance you could have a rough idea of a matchup. It won't be perfect, but for our first go at it in 2015 we're aiming for "somewhat functional."

So here's what I'm going to do. Go to every Character Discussion board, and ask the folks there if they wouldn't mind contributing. To submit one vote, you'll have to fill out one of these:

Mark each character with a + for a match where Kirby HAS THE ADVANTAGE
Mark each character with a - for a match where Kirby HAS THE DISADVANTAGE
Mark each character with a number 0 for a match you feel is very even.

NOTE THAT I AM ONLY TAKING VOTES FROM MEMBERS WITH Kirby IN THEIR PROFILE BAR. It can be as either "Wii U Main" or "3DS Main". But if Kirby is in neither one of those slots when I count the votes on Friday, Nov 13, it won't be counted.

(Yes, for the avid democrats out there, that means you can vote for one other character as well.)

Like I said, they won't be perfect, and each board will probably be a little biased toward their own respective character. But the results should be interesting regardless.

If this thing is successful maybe we'll do a revised version in 2016.

Oh. Well, just pretend 55:45 and above is considered +, 45:55 or lower is -, and 50:50 is 0.

Also, Jigglypuff, Shulk, Dr. Mario, and Mr. Game & Watch are +, I forgot to add them.

Lol it probably will. Well the accuracy will only be temporary anyway, since there's characters and everything else to come. I'm not worried about it. And the matchups SHOULD be based partly on special move interactions and overall character design, which should give it some ability to last with a modicum of accuracy until we can make the next one.

For OP, this is pretty much EXACTLY my MU spread as well.

Of course this doesn't account copy abilities on my end, Kirby with fruits gets to 0 or even + agaisnt pacman. But let's think of it as all just being regular Kirby.

Might be too old now, but it's been a while since I've been on here so here goes. I'll also add little explanations where I feel necessary to help fuel discussion.

Bowser Jr - (hard to approach)
Captain Falcon + (Kirby gets combed less, falcon has gimp-able recovery. Can duck under grab)
Charizard - ( only had this match up once in tournament and lost. Zard has lots off of throw combos, and Up throw kills Kirby around 100. If you get grabbed a lot, then this is a bad match up)
Diddy Kong 0 (Easy for kirby to win the off stage game, but diddy is so fast in neutral, bananas rarely a factor however)
Donkey Kong +
Duck Hunt 0
Falco 0
Fox 0
Mr. Game & Watch 0 (Some kirby mains have trouble with this match up, but I don't see it)
Ganondorf 0 (Gannon kills kirby too easy for this to be in kirby's favor)
Greninja 0 (Don't think I have ever done this match up in tournament. In theory could go either way so thus even.)
Ike - (Disjoints = bad match up for kirby)
Jigglypuff +
King Dedede - (DDD doesn't die...)
Kirby - (Dittos plays so differently then normal match ups)
Link 0 (Unsure where this falls, easy for Kirby to get around projectiles, but the sword / grab range on link makes it hard to do stuff once your in)
Little Mac - (Maybe just me, but hard to gimp mac with kirby, and his smashes are too strong)
Lucario 0
Luigi 0
Mario - (No real advantages for kirby, and mario is just good. maybe a neutral matchup, but Mario just has more tools)
Dr. Mario 0 (Maybe easier to gimp?)
Marth - (disjoints)
Lucina -
Metaknight - (also never had this one, but in theory is doesn't look good for kirby, with no clear advantage)
Ness 0
Olimar 0 (I'm actually not a fan of this match up, and only a few real matches so unsure. Maybe minus)
Palutena 0 (temped to give this a plus, but a good palutena knows how to keep you out, which is bad for kirby)
Pikachu 0 (I usually lose this match up because pika is so fast, but feels rather even)
Pit & Dark Pit - (disjoints)
Peach +
Zelda 0
R.O.B. + (Kirby's angle of attack is out of range for all of ROB's zoning options which makes approaching a breeze, just don't get grabbed or lose the neutral too hard)
Robin 0
Rosalina 0
Samus 0
Sheik 0 (I almost want to give kirby the plus for this one, but kirby can be killed too easy)
Shulk -/0 (Actually a bad bad match up due to disjoints, but if kirby can get the copy, it evens things out.)
Toon Link - (Similar to big link, just faster, so toon gets the slight edge in my book)
Villager 0 (Their projectiles are easy enough to avoid, copy gives kirby a solid boost, overall even)
Wario 0 (another I lack much experience with, only losing once, but to a player I know was better than I. Don't see any major issues or advantages)
Wii Fit Trainer 0 (can be hard to approach but after winning neutral makes things easier)
Yoshi - (why are yoshi's moves so fast... that egg toss.. why...)
Zero Suit Samus + (Kirby can duck under most of her approach options and grab, so have to play differently and let her approach, but overall is good for kirby with strong combo potential. cannot do much off stage however)
Megaman - (lemons keep you out)
Pacman 0 (While I have played this match up a few times, I'm not quite sure where it lies so must be even)
Sonic - (too fast I think)
Ryu 0
Roy - (disjoints and kills kirby too early, more gimp-able but more risky approaching)
Mewtwo + (too easy, prob kirby's best match up, haha)
Lucas 0 (a worse match up than ness, mainly because of PK fire used to keep kirby out, and lucas has combo's on kirby, almost a minus)
Brawler 0
Swordfighter 0 (lol, I don't play against mii's)
Gunner 0

Final tally: -7 I might have been a bit harsh on old Kirby, but Kirby has a lot of good/even match up with high tiers, and just has some bad match ups on weird characters.

Oh my god people, Dedede is litertatly a 60:40 matchup for us

King Dedede gets destoryed by a ton of stuff we have, so HOW could Dedede have an advantage?

The fact we can't kill him. Gordos used properly will control space and force our angle of approach, and things like his up air killing us at ~80%

I think we still have enough stuff over him to have a pretty good advantage though, such as having a big size, which makes it easy for us to hit him
