Not my idea, it came from ign.com!

Here is the link:http://wii.ign.com/articles/830/830760p1.html

In fact, you wouldn't play as normal, human Link at all – Masks Link would be a character
who exists only in three transformed forms, being Deku Link, Goron Link, and Zora Link. The three major Mask transformations that altered the Hyrulian hero's abilities and appearance, and that were essential to progress through the quest to free Termina back in 2000. The character would work in a way similar to the Pokemon Trainer. You'd have the option to transform from Deku, to Goron, to Zora and back at any time using Down + B, but there would be a stamina meter to keep track of how long you spent in each form. Just like swapping equally between Squirtle, Ivysaur and Charizard, you'd need to balance your time between the lightweight Deku, middleweight Zora and heavyweight Goron forms to keep from getting fatigued

Final Smash: Transforming Fierce Deity Link

I could not find a Regular Kid Link thread to put this under, so i made a thread. I am just curious what other people thought bout this cuz its seem like a cool idea.

I wrote this move list for a thread about the same thing...that one got locked however T_T
http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=120335 <-(There it is by the way)
~Young Link~
B: Bow- Similar to YL's from Melee
Side B: Deku Nut- YL throws a Deku Nut at the opponent which acts like a mini smoke ball, blurring the area around them for a moment or two.
Up B: Spin Attack-YL does his spin attack upwards.
Down B: Mask Change- Young Link takes out the Deku Mask and places it on his face. This move has a bit of lag and you can still be struck by attacks/smashed away.
Mask Change pattern: Young Link-Deku Link-Goron Link-Zora Link-Young Link

~Deku Link~
B: Bubble Spit- DL spits a bubble at an enemy, this can be charged, but like Diddy's popguns, if charged too long, the bubble will burst.
Side B: Dash Attack- DL spins towards the opponent like his attack in MM.
Up B: Flower Booster- DL produces two flowers that send him into the air, he then slowly drifts down.

~Goron Link~
B: Goron Punch- A heavy punch is sent rocketing towards the enemy. This attack has a small wind up.
Side B: Goron Roll- Goron Link rolls towards the foe, as he rolls, he picks up speed and becomes harder to control. After rolling for a while, spikes jut out of him, causing more damage to enemies.
Up B: Goron Pound- GL leaps into the air, tucks into a ball and ground pounds. This can be used as a recovery move but due to the fact that Goron Link is so heavy, his recovery is quite poor.

~Zora Link~
B: Barrier- Zora Link creates his electric barrier around himself; electrifying any enemies who try and strike him. This lasts for a short period of time and after the barrier fades, Zora Link must recovery briefly.
Side B: Zora Boomerang- Zora Link fires his boomerang like fins. This attack strikes twice.
Up B: Dolphin Leap- Zora Link leaps straight into the air, his arms at his side. This has good recovery possibilities but very little offensive capabilities.

Final Smash: Fierce Diety Link: Young Link places the Fierce Diety mask on himself and briefly transforms into the all powerful warrior.

Taunt: Young Link removes the mask he's currently wearing (Like Kirby; getting rid of his powers) and gasps slightly at the shock of taking it off (like the transformation scenes in MM).

It can't be denied that it's a fun idea, but it just continues the problem of TOO MANY LINKS. Melee had both Link and Young Link, and now you have suggestions on all sides for Cell-Shaded Link, Deku Link alone, Masks Link, Wolf Link, Young Link to return...

This would probably be the best way to implement the varieties of Link, but it's still just a bit messed up to see Link vs Link even when you pick two different characters.

Here's how we can make it work

This trick can keep it from being too many Links. Masked Link would transform into the various Links, but not in the manner of Pokemon Trainer. He would transform for a short time, long enough to perform an attack and shift back. In essence, some of his attacks would transform him for the duration of the attack, allowing him to transform without having to get more move-sets. The transformation would change Young Link's size, but upon being hit, he would revert to being Young Link and react accordingly; in an example, using an attack that transforms Young Link into Deku Link makes him a bit smaller then normal, but will not make him a lightweight if he gets hit, and conversely, he would not become incredibly heavy if hit while doing a Goron Link attack. This kind of move-set would allow us to have Young Link the Majora's Mask goodness, while retaining a reasonable number of movesets (Fierce Diety Link would still be a Final Smash). I belive that this is not so far fetched an idea, nor is it far removed from Majora's Mask itself, because quick shifting between forms was a fairly useful trick that helped throughout the games (or at least against some enemies).

I think this is the perfect time to show off the move-set that came to me in a flash of inspiration.

Masked Link:
Stats: Same as Young Link
Appearance: Same sort of changes that were made between Ocarina's Young Link and Majora's Young Link apply. He's got some new gear, a metal shield, and the awesome-to-look-at Razor Sword.

Attacks:

Ground A moves:
A, A, A/AAAA etc.: Left Slash, Right Slash, Stab / Illusion Stab combo: Same moves as Young Link in Melee.
Ftilt A: Drop Slash: A vertical slash from forehead level to stomach level (reletive to YLink of course)
Utilt A: Arc Slash: An arcing swipe above Young Link's head
Dtilt A: Shoelace Slash: A swiping slash at the feet
Fsmash A: Goron Punch Young Link Shapeshifts into Goron Link and charges up a burning right hook that, while slow, is incredibly powerful and includes a few invincibility frames. Enemies are launched in a fairly horizontal arc.
Usmash A: Twin Zora Swipe: Young Link transforms into Zora Link and swipes twice with his fins. The first swipe can hit people in front of him to begin the move, and the second is more limited to above his head and launches foes straight up.
Dsmash A: Deku Tornado: Young Link transforms into Deku Link and performs a variation on his spinning attack, drawing foes in to be hit multiple times.
Dash A: Deku Spin: Deku Link performs his spin attack in a dash. The move is far less powerful then the aforementioned Deku Tornado, but it still hits multiple times, and Deku Link loses no momentum doing it.

Air Moves:
Nair: Zora Kick: Young Link becomes Zora Link and does his normal air kick, but by transforming, has a longer kick range then is normally expected.
Fair: Tumble Slash: Young Link does a forward flip in the air, slicing foes in front of him.
Bair: Zora Double Kick: Much like Zora Kick, Young Link becomes Zora Link and performs his old back kick, using his Zora Form to gain extra range.
Uair: Sky Stab: Much like Link, a stab straight up into the air:
Dair: Sword Plant: Young Link performs what has become his signature move, chance of burning included.

Grab moves:
Grab: Golden Hookshot: Masked Link has an extended grab, using the golden Hookshot from Majora's Mask.
Grab Attack: Hilt Bash: Young Link hits the foe with the hilt of his sword.
Fthrow: Stomach Stomp: Young Link kicks his foe in the stomach, launching them a short distance.
Bthrow: Reverse Zora Kick: Zora Link drags the foe around to the back, stabs them with a fin, and launches them with a kick.
Uthrow: Deku Pop: Young Link tosses the foe up, and then Deku Link pops into the air, head butting the foe into the air.
Dthrow: Goron Slam: Goron Link curls up and slams into the foe while they lay prone on the ground.

Special Moves:
Neutral B: Magic Arrow: Young Link draws his bow back, adding magic power to the arrow as he draws it. A short charge (whic still includes a horizontal trajectory) makes it a fire arrow, a bit longer then the "normal" full charge makes it an Ice Arrow which can freeze enemies similar to what the Ice Climbers can do, and any longer then that makes it a Light arrow which is even stronger and keeps moving through foes and obstacles.
Side B: Goron Roll: Young Link becomes Goron Link, curls into a ball, and rolls across the stage covered in spikes. The spikes deal some good damage and are disjointed hit boxes, making the rolling Goron hard to hit.
Up B: Deku Flower: Young Link becomes Deku Link, who pops higher in the air, and produces a pair of Deku Flowers that he uses to catch the wind and float with. Pressing the attack button will drop a Deku Bomb which functions like the Deku Nut item.
Down B: Zora Lightning Field: Zora Link goes into a defensive stance and surrounds himself with an electric field, zapping those who get too close. The move diminishes in size with use and recharges with non-use, much like Bowser's Fire Breath.

Final Smash: Fierce Deity: Wait a minute, surely this move is restricted to boss rooms, right?* After using the power of a Smash Ball, Young Link becomes Fierce Deity Link, and becomes much stronger then his original self, and gains new moves to boot (Fierce Deity Moveset to come)

*You don't have time to ponder that question, as Masked Link has just grabbed a Smash Ball

Taunts:
Lon-Lon Milk
Zora Link strumming his "singing guitar" (which plays the "jam session" music)
Goron Link looking confused and going "Owoh?"
Deku Link staring at a flower.

I believe that with this move-set (or one similar to this but removing moves that would make people cry "CLONE!") Masked Link would become a viable alternate Link, but with enough uniqueness to be his own character, and without burning 5 move-sets to do so!

Does anyone have an opinion on my idea? I learned my lesson about the other thread and am sorry, but can someone give me their thoughts on this idea?

Nevermind, could have sworn there was one already existing, but they were about specific masked characters.

I get the feeling that "Masks Link" was what Young Link was supposed to be in Melee; Great Bay was MM-inspired, so if they had had more development time, I'm sure they would've used more MM ideas (the masks) for Young Link.

However, I'm not too partial to the idea in Brawl. With Twilight Princess being used as the inspiration for Link and Zelda, I get the feeling that any new Zelda characters will come from anything after Wind Waker (Midna, WW-Link, Vaati, etc). When you look at the older games, the Triforce Three are the only really important characters; the rest are pretty much plot advancements. Only in the later games do we get Tingle, Midna and Vaati.

Actually, Tingle started in Majora's Mask, just to clear that up.

Sure, Melee did have a Majora's Mask themed stage, but Young Link was definitely not the one from Majora's Mask (no masks, Deku Shield, etc.), so this idea is not redundant with Melee at all. And it is not true that characters must be from the most recent version of their series (look at Snake).

I think that this version of Young Link would be a good idea because it would be a clever way of making Young Link not a clone anymore, and because it seems like people like the transformed Links (or at least Fierce deity, he seems to be a pretty popular choice)

Wow, this is exacly how I thought it would work
The moveset posted, and this idea,

As for you people saying their are to man links is stupid, because this would give people a chance to play as a Zora, Deku or Goron, Which races hav bee around since almost the begging of Zelda

mmhm ^^; nice idea, i had thought of it awhile ago, except, his default form would actually be regular young link, down B switching between masks, never thought of fierce diety as a final smash (probably because i want him as an actual playable character so badly) but once again, good idea.. it'd be a nice, sort of unique character (aside from pokemon trainer), and also another character from Zelda, that is not a link clone :D

Im pretty sure all the clones were ment to be clones, if you look at the char select in melee all the clones were on the edge and 3 demtionaly behind everyone else

And besides the whole idea was that he wouln't be normal link at all
