Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s Version 2.4.0 update has just arrived! It comes packed to the brim with new DLC content from Wave 5 of the Booster Course Pass. Players who’ve purchased the DLC will get access to eight new tracks and a whopping three new characters.
Here’s everything new in the Ver. 2.4.0 Update:

- Athens Dash (Tour)
- Daisy Cruiser (GCN)
- Moonview Highway (Wii)
- Squeaky Clean Sprint (New!)
- Los Angeles Laps (Tour)
- Sunset Wilds (GBA)
- Koopa Cape (Wii)
- Vancouver Velocity (Tour)
- Petey Piranha (Returning from Mario Kart: Double Dash)
- Wiggler (Returning from Mario Kart 7)
- Kamek (Returning from Mario Kart Tour)
- Balance of characters and vehicles has been adjusted.
- Adjusted when the Spiny Shell or Red Shell warning displays.
- Frequency of 200cc and Mirror races has been reduced online in worldwide and regional modes.
Author’s Note: Quite frankly I’m ecstatic to try out the new characters. I’m a big fan of Petey Piranha and Kamek’s also great, however, Wiggler’s gotta take the gold here. I love that big goofy caterpillar, they’re hilarious! And you know what else I love? Moonview Highway! That was always my favorite track as a kid, and nowadays it’s still top 3 for me.
