•Timeout victories are determined by stock count, ledge grab limit (35 per player), percent.
•Double Meta Knight is banned in teams.
•Any action that can prevent the game from continuing is banned (i.e., freezing, disappearing characters, game reset, stalling under the stage, etc.).

Conduct:
•Tournament attendees are expected to maintain respectful conduct towards other attendees and players (i.e. not knocking players, yelling in ears, etc.).
•Tournament attendees are expected to respect the venue, equipment, and other's property; and liable for any damages they render.
•Coaching is allowed only between games.
•Bracket manipulation is not allowed (intentional forfeiting, match fixing, splitting, subbing).
•Wii Remote must have batteries removed when not playing.

All other inquiries and issues are determined at the discretion of the TO. Failure to adhere to rules will lead to punishment at the TO's choosing, which could include the removal from the venue.

-Players determine who chooses port and who chooses stage strike order, if necessary by coin flip (or other method agreed to by players)

PM ruleset

General Rules:

  • 4 Stock, 8 minutes
  • Items set to OFF and NONE.
  • Pause turned OFF.
  • Team Attack is turned ON.
  • Sets are best of 3 by default
  • Winners, Losers, Grand, and Semi-finals are best of 5.
  • Sets are played best of 3 by default.
  • If a game ends in a time out, the winner is decided by highest stock count. If both players stock counts are equal, then lowest percent will decide the winner. If both stock and percent are the same, or if the match ends with both players dying simultaneously, the winner will be decided by a 1 stock 3 minute tie-breaker.
  • Dave’s Stupid Rule (Modified): No player/team may choose a stage they previously won on (in that set) unless the other player/team agrees.
  • All players are responsible for their own control scheme/name tag and must make sure it is set before the match begins. Both players/teams must agree to restart a match on account of a controller problem.
  • Any action that prevents the game from continuing results in a forfeiture of the match for the offender.
  • As a general rule, whoever the game deems the winner is the undisputed winner, regardless of any “Double Knockouts”.
  • Project M has edited suicide moves (Flame Choke, Inhale) to result in the initiator dying last, however port priority can sometimes cause these moves to kill both players simultaneously. If a match ends via a suicide move and results in "sudden death" because of this, the initiator of the move wins.
  • Players/Teams always reserve the option to force a double-blind pick for the first match character select.
  • The Colorblind rule may be enforced by any player
  • Stalling techniques are banned.
  • Infinites are illegal past 250%

Starter Stages:

  • Battlefield
  • Final Destination
  • Dreamland 64
  • Pokemon Stadium 2
  • Smashville
Counterpicks:

  • Lylat
  • WarioWare
  • Green Hill Zone
  • Distant Planet
  • Skyworld
  • Fountain of Dreams

Set Format:

  1. (Optional): Rock-paper-scissors determines who gets to choose their controller port first.
  2. Both players/teams choose their characters and name/tags for the first game.
  3. Players/Teams take turns striking starter stages in a P1-P2-P2-P1 fashion, and come to a final stage to start the set on.
  4. First game in set is played
  5. The winner of the previous game bans 2 stages from all available starter/counterpick stages.
  6. The loser of the previous game picks one of the remaining stages.
  7. The winner of the previous game picks their character.
  8. The loser of the previous game selects their character
  9. Game Start!
  10. Steps 5-9 are repeated for each following match until the set is complete.
