The Super Smash Bros. for Wii U tournament at GameWorks Las Vegas in all three Party Rooms at Town Square Las Vegas.

● Amiibo’s are banned for Singles & Doubles.
● Order of events:
1. Pick characters
2. Stage striking
3. Custom move selection

● You may not choose a stage you have already won on unless mutually agreed to.
● You may not play on a stage that is not on the available stages list. This will result in a double disqualification.
● Maximum allowed time between games is 60 seconds. Any player violating this rule will be issued a loss.
● There will be no loading anything on to the consoles from a Nintendo portable gaming system.

Tournament Format:
+ Singles will have 16 pools total run as a 16 person double elimination bracket pool where the top 3 advance into the final Top 56 Double Elimination Bracket; along with the top 8 DVDA Power Rankers scored by the cumulative total of Smashboard points from the past 3 most recent DVDAs, which are DVDA#5, DVDA#6, and DVDA#7.
+ All matches in bracket pools are 2/3, and all bracket pools stop at Winners Finals (WF) & Losers Finals (LF); Losers Semifinals (LSF) determines 3rd seed from bracket pool out of the top 3 that advance.
+ All Top 56 Final Bracket matches are 2/3 except the following which are 3/5: Winners Semifinals (WSF), Winners Finals (WF), Losers Quarters (LQF), Losers Semifinals (LSF), Losers Finals (LF), and Grand Finals (GF).
+ Doubles will be a double elimination bracket.
+ All Doubles matches are 2/3 except the following which are 3/5: Winners Semifinals (WSF), Winners Finals (WF), Losers Quarters (LQF), Losers Semifinals (LSF), Losers Finals (LF), and Grand Finals (GF).

$10 Venue (100% waived with first 8 Melee setups registered!)

Melee Rule Set
-Game version: US Nintendo GameCube
-Game Settings: 4 Stock, 8 Minute Time Limit, No Items, Pause Disabled, 2/3 Games
-Starter stages: Yoshi’s Story, Fountain of Dreams, Final Destination, Battlefield, Dream Land.
-Counter-pick Stages: Pokemon Stadium.
-Wobbling is legal. Freezing and infinite stalling are not legal.
-First stage is decided by banning from the Starter Stages in P1-P2-P2-P1 order.
-Winning player is not locked into the same character for the next match, but has to pick before loser selects character.
-Following stages decided by winner banning one stage from all stages and then loser choosing.
-Any matches that are best of five, there are no stage bans.
-You may not choose a stage you have already won on unless mutually agreed to.

Just a few notes on Smash 4 Wii U before the FAQ:
+ Singles entrants is capped at 256 & 8 DVDA Power Rankers; 264 total.

+ You can register to any pool wave that fits your schedule, but please select only ONE you can 100% attend.

+ Once you've indicated a time preference, you cannot change it when final brackets are made after registration closes.

+ 16 total number of pools with a maximum of 16 people each pool.

+ Registration for a specific pool time wave will close once the maximum of 16 is reached per pool. (16 * Number of Pools)

+ All matches in bracket pools are Best of 3 (2/3), and all bracket pools stop after Losers Semifinals to determine Top 3 that advance.

+ All Top 56 Final Bracket and Doubles matches are Best of 3 (2/3) except the following which are Best of 5 (3/5): Winners Semifinals, Winners Finals, Losers Quarters, Losers Semifinals, Losers Finals, and Grand Finals.

+ 8 DVDA Power Rankers from previous DVDAs that attend DVDA#8 will have byes from bracket pools and the 1st round of Top 56 Final Bracket; subject to Smashboards points attained from DVDA#5, DVDA#6, and DVDA#7.

1. When is it?

3. How much is it?
$20 total for just Singles:
$10 Venue Fee +
$10 Singles Entry Fee

Optional Side Events:
$10 a team for Doubles
$1 an amiibo for amiibo Fights (1v1, items off, single elimination bracket, 2 stock, customs on, equipment on)
$1 a person for King of the Hill (8 player Smash FFA, Smash Ball On, 8 stock)

Venue Fee = $10 includes:
+ Custom eSports Gamer Menu.
+ A 1 hour GameWorks Play Card to the many arcades at GameWorks Las Vegas. (A $10 value!)

4. How do I pay?
All payments for the venue fees and entry fees is at the venue on tournament day:
+ All entrants & spectators must pay the $10 venue fee, and it will be paid to GameWorks and can be paid via cash, credit or check. (Parents, guardians and certain patrons may have their venue fee waived; GameWorks will have the final decision.)
+ All entry fee(s) will be paid at the Tournament Organizer (TO) station via cash only.

5. How do I register?

Important Note: Everyone needs to complete the form or else you are not registered. Please complete the form. This list will be shared with GameWorks Las Vegas.

6. "I work 9 to 5" ; can I make it?
Yes there are multiple pool waves you may choose from, refer to the schedule.

7. What do I need to bring other than cash for fees?
BYOC (GameCube Controller or any officially licensed Nintendo controller) and batteries if you need them.
BYOa (Bring your own amiibo; if competing in a side event)
Mark all your belongings.

8. What is a full Wii U Setup?
A complete Wii U Setup [we need at least 24!] is:
+ Wii U
+ Smash Wii U
+ GameCube Controller Adapter
+ Cables to connect to a HDTV
+ A surge protector (optional, but highly appreciated)

9. Why should I bring my setup?
GameWorks will WAIVE the $10 venue fee!
For all DVDAs, I make sure my Pool Leaders know to keep an eye on all setups and I let all patrons know that we are all here to have fun. Thievery will not be tolerated and by charging a venue fee for a majority of people entering the DVDA area; it ensures no random people wander in for your hard earned and loved electronics.

10. Can I or do I need to bring a HDTV monitor?
Although not necessary, we would greatly appreciate anyone bringing HDTV monitors to help with setups. For bringing a high quality HDTV monitor, you will be awarded a bonus 1 hour GameWorks Play Card!

11. When does registration close?
Entries will be closed on Friday, March 27th at 11:59 PM PST; any entries after that day will take the lowest seeding in their bracket pool and may be subject to a $5 extra fee.

12. Are Custom Moves allowed?
Yes Custom Moves are allowed as an option at DVDA#8; not required.
Although, there may be a chance that there will be some setups that are not ready with the presets of Custom Moves from the Smashboards thread. See this link for more details about Custom Moves about setting up a Wii U that is Custom Moves ready: http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1skjrkn

13. Wait there's Melee!?!?!?!??
Yes! We are going to have Vegas Smash Melee run as a side event in the medium party room where DVDArtists will be and food & beverages!
We need at least 8 full Melee setups that include the following:
+ GameCube or Wii
+ CRT TV or a monitor
+ Smash Bros Melee game & save files
+ cables to connect to TV or monitor
+ a surge protector

The first 8 people to signup and note a full Melee setup will have their $10 venue fee waived! :)

+She is a fantasy artist that creates phenomenal paintings, pots and other artistic creations.

I'm thinking about going to this as my first tournament experience. Being new to the scene I'm a little confused and somewhat intimidated by some of the rules, haha.
