Hey, pretty new to Smash, got a 3DS about 3 weeks ago and have been playing a bunch since (Played maybe 10 hours of smash before that)... I'd love to do a tournament, just wondering if there's a skill floor I should be above before entering or if this is open to players of all levels. As of right now I'm consistently beating lvl 9 CPU, and my track record in For Glory is 17-66. Also I would probably have to leave around 630pm for work, I doubt there'd be much chance of me making the Top 32 bracket anyway haha. Anyway, my questions are
-Is it too early for me to enter a tournament? (Don't care about winning, just want to get better)
-Would I be allowed to use my 3DS as a controller for the Wii U games? (And could my friend use his gamepad?)
-Would it be worth coming out if I had to leave around 630-7pm?
Thanks in advance for any replies!

If you want to get better its NEVER too soon to go to a tournament

Yes, you can use your 3ds as a controller.

Most tournaments do not allow the use of a game pad for tournaments due to the fact that only 1 gamepad can be connected at once to a wii u. So its impossible to have two people using game pads fight either other. I would suggest your friend use a wii u pro controller. It has the same exact button layout, and fit most hands better.

It would definitely be worth the trip to show up, evennif you have to leave early
