The tag team duo from the third generation of Pokemon! They woulkd make a great addition to the Smash Brothers roster. They are out ranked by other possible Pokemon in terms of a rep for that series, but I think they would be rather unique insted of your conventional character.
See, theoretically, the Pokemon Roster could (un-likely, but possible) work like this:
First Generation:
Pikachu
Pokemon Trainer (Squirtle, Ivysaur, Charizard)
Second Generation:
Igglybuff (it would be neat to have her for a change)
Third Generation:
Plusle+Minun
Fourth Generation:
Lucario
I know this is a little risky, here Mewtwo has been removed, which may dishearten some fans. The PRO for this list is that it adds 4 (pseudo 6) new characters to the Pokemon roster.
Here is a moveset that could be made using the moves of both Plusle and Minun:
Here are some potential ^Special moves:
Spark: The assistan Pokemon* hits the lead Pokemon* to make it rise higher. Hitting the foe with the lead Pokemon caues damage.
Swift: Stars surround Plusle+Minun and make them rise upwards.
Batton Pass: The leader passes the batton to the assistan who jumps higher then pulls the other Pokemon up. (Think a combination of Aether and IC's ^Special).
Potential Neutral moves:
Thunderwave: The two rub their hands together to create radiating electricity that stuns all foes it makes contact with.
Charge: The two charge an attack that explodes around them.
Potential > Special moves:
Helping Hnad: The leader tosses the assistan to damage the foe.
Encore: Plusle+Minun clap and make a foe rapidly perform a certain move 2-6 times.
Potential vSpecial moves:
Raindance: Assistant dances to summon rain on a small part of the stage while the other Pokemon can attack with electric moves that do double damage.
Shockwave: Sends an electric shockwave across the ground.
FS Charge Beam: The leader and assistant Pokemon go on opposite ends of the stage (the leader goes to the left always) and start charging an attack. After approximately 3 seconds the two make an electric beam that spans from one to the other, all across the stage.
Now, I know that these two have low odds of making it to Brawl, but their addition would catch few off guard. Their inclusion might not hinder Mewtwo's status, or Lucario's, or Jigs', but if development was spent elsewhere, and those I mentioned above had priority, then these two would likely make it as a Pokeball.
*Plusle and Minun would function similarily to the Ice Climbers. From the select screen. You may select either of the Pokemon to be the leader of the group. I would assume that Plusle would be feminine, and Minun would be masculine. If the leader is KOed, both are, if the assistant is KOed, you play solely as the leader.
P.S. Since in game their ability makes them stronger when both are present, if the assistant is KOed, the leader's strength would be reduced by 50%.
