Lucas uses the Home-Run Bat - Ness really out?

As you can see, Lucas is definitely having a baseball bat. As one of the defining features of Ness, I'd say this is a pretty hard blow.

Well, it shows Link and Ike with their swords raised, so it would be logical to end it with Lucas' own weapon. Then again, you may be right. I hadn't thought of that 
If you've seen any clips of Lucas, like the Subspace Emissary movie preview, Lucas' forward smash is like Ness' of 64 and Melee. Meaning, Lucas swings horizontally and not vertically over his head. And Lucas uses a stick, not a bat.
