General impressions:

  • Mewtwo has a ridiculous punish game on us. Try to put up a wall and kill his approaches. Fair is safe on shield if well-spaced IIRC, but try to wait (if you feel antsy, jump) and see what he does. When you feel comfortable, try to go on the offensive and pressure him heavily.
  • All of his aerials are high committal and can be brutally punished when above, coming from the ledge, or even sometimes retreating
  • Their shadow ball is stronger than our aura sphere until we're at approx. 100% aura I think. Use aura sphere sparingly however, as they have a pretty good reflector.
  • Their Ftilt and Dtilt are frame-trap material, don't try to punish them. That goes for Fsmash and Dsmash as well.
  • Mewtwo simply cannot get hit; he's so light and we have aura sphere, Bair, Uair and situational kill moves at low aura. At high aura, mewtwo has to scramble for a kill throw, or he's dying at like 70%.

Simply don't get hit.
