Light/heavy tilt question

Is it possible to get the different tilts using tilt stick or does it have to be done with joystick and A?

You can definitely get the light tilt just by flicking the stick, and get the heavy by holding it for slightly longer.

To add to this topic: make sure you return the right stick / c-stick to neutral position before attempting another input, otherwise your following input won't register. The stick doesn't have to return square center, just in the deadzone for where attacks don't register - but to be safe it may be better to return it there.
