My experiences online have been mostly terrible, even when using my wired connection. We could give one match a shot, though.

Oh, I remember seeing you post on reddit's WFT forum too. This is great footage!

Fighting ROB requires a lot of patience and baiting. If you Short Hop a SS, you can shoot over his top without advancing or retreating. The Header Ball is great for messing up his top charge time, which in turn lessens his top setups. Waiting for the inevitable laser is always a good idea as well. ROB's weight makes him very, very easy to combo, so neutralize those projectiles, and wait for him to retreat or use an unsafe Nair/Dsmash and start the pain. I love to use Nair into Uptilt x2 and then Upsmash. Offstage, use your header ball to ruin his recovery from the side (Robs like to use upair to stop our Dair) and patiently wait for a chance to meteor or his gas to run out. In reverse, ROBs really love to Dair. Offstage, it's a free header punish if you dodge. Time to your ledge snap so that it doesn't coincide with their on stage Dair.

I'll do a bigger write up later but for now the simplest thing you can work on right now is not being afraid to use Sun Salutation. Reflector is scary I know, but it's much scarier for Fox knowing that you can charge cancel at any time on top of instant acting out of a full charge, a windbox that messes with his spacing, and shield cancels. On top of slowing Fox down in neutral as he cycles through options to beat it (block, reflector, roll, jump, ect.) it's also really good at conditioning players to do dumb things off stage.

I was thinking that during the match, but I just wanted to go in for some reason. I just need to hit and run more.

Here's a set that I did with my friend. I feel as if this is one of Wii Fit Trainer's hardest match-ups. Any tips?

That's because :4mario: IS one of :4wiifit:'s matchups. I'd argue and say that it's his/her worst MU overall. There isn't a whole lot that :4wiifit: can do honestly.
You seem to use the unangled Header a lot. Try angling it more so it isn't as predictable and so that the ball can go further.
Okay I watched it again so I could find a few more things.
-At 4:29, you should almost never use Sun Salutation and then run right at them if they can reflect it. It's fine if you do it to catch them in a roll for example, but if they're standing there, shoot then either sheild or jump. (And you should try to perfect sheild if SS is fully charged since it can break your sheild if it is even a bit damaged. Really you should only be using uncarged Sun Salutations if they can reflect it, but that's in case you do want to use a fully charged one.)
-You never used down tilt. It's an awkward move to use at first since it doesn't have much range and is rather slow, but it does a nice 12% and is somewhat safe to throw out since you are VERY short when using it, so most attacks and grabs will miss. (Don't miss too often or you'll become predictable.) Forward tilt should be your most used tilt, but down tilt is also a good move that you should implement into your playstyle.
-You barely used Deep Breathing. This should be used a lot more often since it heals you and increases knockback on your moves. If you get knocked offstage, try Deep Breathing far away from the stage before recovering so that you can have a small buff when you start battling again.

Sorry for the double post, didn't think I'd be the previous poster.

Nebulous 21 Winner's
John Numbers :4wiifit: vs Venia :4greninja:

Winner's Finals
vs Mr. E :4sheik::4marth:

A great set, I love how John has Sheik match up down now and how much Mr. E turned it up when he went Marth.

I used to definitely think Waveguider was the best with a small gap then John Numbers as the second, but John has really been upping his game lately and I like how he's working on his play. I also like his quirky experimentation with the canceled header set ups.

Yeah it seems like every time I watch Numbers play, I see a new use for header. Around 1:50 in Winner's Finals it looked like he spawned a header ball from beneath the ledge to absorb Shiek's needles. super cool :]

I went all Wii Fit trainer Saturday, pretty uneventful but earned my top 16 seed at least, lost to tourney winner and a Pikachu, here's set against the tourney winner:

Does anybody have any input? I'm going almost solo Wii Fit recently so should be getting a lot better. Can't be missin techs.

Also, Wii Twerk Trainer vs Karna from G3 has been uploaded:

I agree with this, it reminds me a little of Peach. You can really throw people off by messing with your fall speed.

Been playing WFT seriously for almost a month now and I've been making some progress, but need some critique. Here's from my recent weekly:
vs Corrin WQ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bG7acM-ebfs
vs Bayo WS
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mShpmWWMDAw
vs DK WF
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5DQwLlESoc
vs Rat LF
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1hQbB8_bgo

The first two players weren't playing there mains, so I guess we have a look at day 1 DLC vs WFT
Pretty solid play for the most part. You can look to work on toning down on smashes in neutral. 60 someodd cool down frames mean it's not worth it unless you've popped DB and have the read. Otherwise save them for her combos, traps and parries. I'd also look into adding instant ledge hops into your game so you can have a mixup in your ledgeplay arsenal that refreshes your ledge invincibility. It's also super useful for a ledgetrump game.

Aside from that, I'd just tighten up the things you're already doing well with MU game knowledge. Some small tips for those 4 characters:

  • Corrin is pretty slow in the air and on the ground. Use this to dance around and in front of him so you force him to overextend.
  • Bayo's approach and footsies are pretty subpar. You can make neutral hell for her by staying just outside of dtilt range and forcing her to use things that lose to shield. Her smashes can be neutralized with other hitboxes and have more cooldown than WFT. If she uses them in neutral and whiffs or is blocked, end her. [Nair>upsmash kills around 60]
  • DK's disadvantage isn't the greatest. Always capitalize on uthrows by looking to keep him there with juggles and landing traps. Challenge his recovery with bair and spikes and force him to airdodge with projectiles.
  • Pikachu's recovery animation is short so you need to be familiar with how to punish him knowing when to use low options like dtilt and dash attack. Also practice SDIing his multihits. Fair and bair traps can both be countered with SDIing up.

This is from that singles tournament I posted in the results thread a while back. Winner's Finals at a 30+ man college tournament. Me vs a Fox player that knocked me out of the previous tournament. Fox has always been a poor MU for me personally, so this set was very important.

Corvus:4wiifit: vs BrownMan:4fox:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=II5NeVY_JTI&index=30&list=PLJct413oYpdrVIIsG_hdT6dPkIL1n7_BK

It's from a month or so ago, so things have changed since then (I don't really play Wii Fit anymore) but figured I'd share anyway. There's a couple other matches of me in the playlist but they either don't involve Wii Fit or are against players who are notably worse than me, so the gameplay is not really relevant.

Good show with both characters. Literally one hit away from taking both matches. Can I ask why you took him to BF?

Unrelated but have you tried your Corrin against Z?

I like Battlefield vs Game n Watch, because his down air isn't as effective there and the platforms do help Wii Fit with running away and sharking. I almost beat Regi at Gen 3 at Battlefield with Wii Fit lol So I thought id be balsy and take him there again lol

I play Z and hang out with him, since Vegas is somewhat near SoCal. I would never use Corrin vs him tho. Pika vs Corrin is such a bad MU for Corrin.
