I'm actually not even sure to how he got perma banned but I guess that's something for another location.

From what I've seen:

Although Mango is the best player, his posts are nothing but him trash talking (which he deserves to do I guess) and talking about how "gay" other players are, and maybe talking highly about Lucky or other players he likes. I have a bad feeling that if he was admitted into the MBR, he would only fill these forums with spam.

He may be the greatest smasher of all time, but I feel that he would not share the appropriate information for our discussions.

yeah, I'm torn. He's the best player in the world, but he makes really ******** posts.

Then again, I don't think he'll spam in the BR. I think he should get a chance. We can always kick him out I guess.

edit: I didn't know that he was banned.

he was banned for cursing out a Mod I believe.

Whether he is the best or not being a troll does not help the backroom grow and help the community. At least IMO.

While it's a reasonable suggestion and I respect your opinion, that's also where the problem lies. IMO anyone added to the MBR should be given the intellectual respect on an equal level, and by recognizing that mango is not our intellectual equal in the first place defeats the purpose in adding him. If we put a qualifier on him to "not post like a ******" and he wants in, he's obviously not going to make ******** posts. He still has no place in this environment. I'm only one vote and if you guys do decide to add him I will respect that decision and I won't say anything.

This should be the only qualification for becoming a member of the MBR. I feel I should qualify this statement by saying Inui logic makes me the best (or at least second best) player in the world.

yeah, well i'd say the 3 idiotic posts he might pollute the backroom with aren't enough of a risk to not let him in.

the MBR is 90% people who are terrible at melee, no offense. we need people like mango's insight if he's willing to give it

what? i'm saying you guys are acting as if the few idiotic posts mango would make before he gets kicked out of the MBR are threats to the MBR's existence lol. at worst the posts can be deleted and mango can be kicked. at best, mango can provide us with better insight than any other MBR member can.

last time i checked, low-risk/high-reward is good

And its because of people like these that Brawl now has a LGL, not because of the terrible players. If you are let in despite being a terrible player, theres usually a good reason behind it.

I think he could post intelligently/constructively if he was given a proper outlet for it. I don't really have any solid evidence of this, however, so I'd have to see some effort on his part before I approve.

Well, it doesn't seem like the Melee backroom has gotten anything done, change couldn't hurt, although Mango probably cares about Melee less than most of the people in here anyways so w/e LOL.
