Smash Rookie
This has been the discussion ever since Plup's amazing performance at The Big House 7. Now, we'll look at the comparison... https://imgur.com/a/aHYKJ
As we can see, Leffen has a distinct advantage over Plup - a sum of 10 more 1st - place wins. however, this doesn't take in to account the level of tournament that each participated in. Both smashers have attended and placed highly in tournaments from their respective countries, with Plup's and Leffen's consistency almost on par. When we look at general placings (#1-#4 since the SSBMRank 2017), Leffen seems to have the edge. While this happens to be about PLup's placing at tournaments vs Mew2King, it goes in depth about the difficulty of Plup's brackets in recent tournaments, and how he has grown as a player and is becoming more consistent with victories. https://youtu.be/0DfJpZ_ui3o Plup's #1 win this year is undoubtedly his first place at Dreamhack Atlanta, with wins over Hbox, M2K, and Axe, being put into losers by Hbox himself. His second best win this year happened recently at The Big House 7, taking 2nd place with wins over Armada (wow!), M2K, Leffen, PewPewU, and MacD, only losing first place to Hbox (what a surprise.) His third best win overall was his second place at CEO, winning over Hbox, Axe, Wizzy and S2J, losing to Hbox. (jeez, again?)
If anyone has clear and relevant information about Leffen's best tournaments and his brackets in said, tournaments, that would be lovely!
