So, I get really sick of trying to ledge guard certain characters and last night I was trying to come up with some new method of keeping people off the side more effectively. I realized that in a lot of cases you would have to be practically invincible to stop certain Up + B moves. (DK, Marth, other people who are hard to stop) "Invincible?" I thought..... Sonic can do invincible! Side B!
So that is my idea. Grag the ledge than use side b toward your opponent to gain the invincibility to strike them through their attack. The main problem with this idea is that I only gives you a few options after you hit them.
If it hits, then I'm pretty sure you could jump out and hit with ANY aerial to knock them farther away. (Dair would not be advised, though in certain cases it may actually work out and not cause a suicide and up air wouldn't really make much sense unless you could somehow follow up with a spring to another aerial.) Fair, Nair, and even Bair would push them farther away.
My main plan though, is that you could jump out of the side b after it hits to set your self up for a footstool > spring. They would fall a ways down, then before being able to up b again they would get hit by the spring. This would hopefully push your opponent under the stage, away from the stage, or simply have dropped them down far enough that they just can't reach the ledge.
