Lack of Character Updates Theory

Heres my take on the lack of character updates, it was originally going to come out December 3rd right? so they probably had it scheduled to announce all the starting characters by then, this can also explain we only got one Red update since December 3rd and it was a final smash. So based on this theory we won't get any more character announcements and the only characters left are the hidden characters (wich i dont think are being announced on the dojo). Of course Sakurai could have rationed out the Red updates after announcing the delay and before december 3rd to extend beyond this, but I think this helps explains why we have been getting more boring updates post December 3rd, just something to think about.

Mmhmm, I've thought about this often. It makes sense, these ARE the updates we should've never gotten (assuming that updates cease after release). These really are the bottom of the bucket, the runt of the litter, the spoiled cream of the crop, the WORST updates we've yet to see. Your theory makes sense, there really ARE enough characters for a starting roster (seriously, what is it, 23?)

Actually, Sakurai and team plan these updates FIVE weeks in advance.

So most likely, the delay was planned five weeks in advance as well.

So really, he's making it up as he goes, but well before the update has to be shown. :x

He could have wanted to give out tons of exciting updates, and now that everyone is checking it everyday, he knows he can issue less exciting updates and everyone will check it out.

Anyway, it's pretty much assumed that all the characters we've seen are the starters, ad likely won't show any others til Brawl's Japan launch.
