Klonoa for Super Smash Bros for the Switch

What tier do you think Klonoa would be placed at, judging by the stats and moveset shown?

"Klonoa gets his Second Wind!" (It refers to his return, after his lengthy absence from video games, and refers to his title as "Klonoa of the Wind")

Attacks and tilts:

Jab: Klonoa will shoot out a Wind Bullet projectile. Comes out very quick at frame 3, has good range, good shield push-back, and low knockback, allowing it to combo into another jab up to 2-3 times, depending on weight, and at 0%. After about 20%, it won't connect to another jab reliably. However, thanks to its moderately long range and very fast attack frames, it can safely punish opponents trying to grab you, or attack you, but doesn't really protect from above. A useful poke.

Dash attack: Klonoa does a quick horizontal slash with his Wind Blade, with very good range, has very little lag, and comes out at frame 5. Same way Klonoa uses to utilize a double-tap attack with the Wind Blade in Klonoa Heroes. Can stay out for a long time, shortly in front, and moderately long from behind, making it able to punish rolls.
Late: 7.5%
Clean: 10%

Up Tilt:

Forward Tilt: Using the Wind Blade, slashes horizontally and vertically. Has a good amount of range, being longer ranged than his jab, and attacks quickly, coming out at frame 6. The first slash doesn't have much knockback, but the second holds most of the knockback. The first hit has a fixed amount of knockback, allowing it to connect with the second hit effectively. Similar to Meta Knight's forward tilt, as pressing once only slashes once, and pressing twice has him slash twice. The first hit can be cancelled to a grab. Based on his Wind Blade attack in Namco X Capcom.
Hit 1: 4%
Hit 2: 5%

Down Tilt: Klonoa does a quick, low dropkick. Low damage and low knockback, but has low lag, and is very quick, hitting at frame 5. Because Klonoa attacks at a low angle, and has a rather small structure, he is somewhat difficult to hit. It also has good range and shield pushback, making it a somewhat decent poke, although it's more riskier than jab. Based on Klonoa's kick attack in the Klonoa Manga.

Specials:
Neutral B: Wind Bullet - Klonoa will shoot a concentrated orb of wind to an opponent, catching the opponent onto Klonoa. Can be used near the edge to launch the opponent downwards via footstool, while recovering Klonoa vertically. If throwing the opponent, it deals considerable damage, but the knockback is always fixed to a certain distance, along with enough hitstun for Klonoa to quickly Up-Smash. If Klonoa wishes to move, however, he is restricted to walking. The player can hold down to charge the Wind Bullet to shoot it further.

Side B: Beam Gnome - Acting as a reflector, Klonoa will spin around quickly to hit multiple times if close to an opponent. Reflects any projectiles. Deals fairly low damage, but has above average knockback if hit with the early frames of the attack, which in the other frames, it makes a wind effect and pushes away opponents. When used on ground, Klonoa can move left and right while using Beam Gnome on ground, allowing Klonoa to close the gap to projectile users. It also keeps Klonoa from falling off the ledge. To balance the incredible mobility, it is compensated with a 1.1x on reflected projectiles. Can be used in the air as a great recovery tool, as using it can make Klonoa rise upwards at the height of the first jump, with a great amount of horizontal distance. Can be broken with physical/non-projectile attacks, but will break if hit with a total of 20% of damage, where he will use his sword instead. The sword version will negate all protection, for more damage, and a lot less end-lag, at 18 frames. Klonoa can still use the sword version, by holding down Side-B, even if the reflector broke. The shield version has moderate end-lag of 25 frames, making it moderately easy to get punished.
Shield hit: 4%
Sword hit(hit 1-5): 3%
Sword hit(hit 6): 6%
Projectile Reflection: 1.1x

Down B: Tornado Attack - Klonoa creates a large gust of wind around him, pushing people away, and briefly floating in the air, it used in the air. Has intangibility frames at the start of frame 4 to frame 12, with a strong wind box at frame 3, where it pushes the opponent away, but will cause the opponent to be pushed away with hitstun instead, if the opponent is too close. If used just at the peak of the jump, or during the jump, Klonoa will raise much higher up. Intangibility appears in the aerial version, but is slightly more strict, starting at frame 5, to frame 11 instead. The windbox of the move will launch opponents away further, the higher the percentage of the opponent. The windbox also deals a small bit of damage upon contact. Useful for defense, and edge-guarding, but the windbox will get weaker, if used too much, and has a moderately long end-lag, making it weak as an offensive move.
Close: 7%
Windbox: 4%

Up B: Moo Jump - Launches himself upwards while he throws a Moo downwards, to perform his signature double jump. Klonoa has a slightly shorter height than Sonic's/Mega Man's Up-B, but Klonoa's deals more damage if one gets hit by the Moo, and can semi-spike. Additionally, as the move starts, Klonoa briefly stalls in mid-air, which this can be used to go slightly further horizontally. If Klonoa gets gimped only once, his next Moo Jump will have 20% reduced distance, and will stay like that until Klonoa gets KO'd, or lands on the ground in some miracle.
Moo: 8%

Final Smash: Thunder Hurricane & Mega Wind Bullet/Double Wind Bullet Tornado
Thunder Huricane & Mega Wind Bullet: With Hewpoe charged with the Wind Bullet, will unleash a more devastating Wind Bullet that was used to destroy the nightmarish entity, Nahatomb, and fire it onto the opponent(s). A scene where Klonoa will catch an opponent with a large Wind Bullet, also briefly showing his portrait of his Super Move(http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net...pcom_10.png/revision/latest?cb=20121006013115). If caught, the Final Smash will send opponents into the air, which Klonoa will fly up to the opponent. The caught opponent is then struck with Thunder Hurricane a number of times, then appears Hewpoe beside Klonoa. With Hewpoe, he will fly into the Wind Ring, and Klonoa will blast an even stronger Wind Bullet charged by Hewpoe, into the opponent(s). In the air, it will be somewhat above the stage, so opponents that aren't caught might get damaged by the Thunder Hurricane attack. Deals a lot of damage and knockback, but it can KO opponents anywhere, when they're at 20%.
Double Wind Bullet Tornado: If the opponent is not close to Klonoa, he will instead use Double Wind Bullet Tornado, an attack used by Klonoa in the webcomic, Klonoa: Dream Traveler of Noctis Sol. It works more closely to Mario's, Ryu's and Dr. Mario's final smash, but it can pull opponents into the projectile, and can also drag opponents off of the stage area. KO power is moderately weak for a final smash, KO'ing at 63%, but still makes up for being able to easily drag opponents to the blast-line, if not properly SDI'ing

Smash attacks:
Side Smash: Wind Bullet Burst (As Klonoa charges the ring, he thrusts it forward, blasting a burst of wind in front of himself. Has a good amount of damage and knockback, with great range, but has problems with end-lag. While it looks like a projectile, it does not have properties of a projectile, as it can't be reflected, making it useful for tricking characters with reflectors. At the frames when Klonoa thrusts his ring forward before firing a burst of wind, he can connect two hits, if the opponent is close enough. Based on Klonoa's Wind Bullet in Namco X Capcom, as it damages the opponent, instead of catching opponents, and that the described animation looks similar to that of the Namco X Capcom incarnation.)
Ring hit: 1 - 3%
Wind Bullet Burst: 12 - 20%

Down Smash: Spinning Hammer Swing/Overhead Hammer Swing (A move that allows Klonoa to spin with the hammer to attack from both sides, and the Overhead Swing dealing massive damage and being able to bury opponents. Uniquely, the move executes different Down Smashes, depending on the direction. If Klonoa executes Down Smash, but angles it forward, he will do an Overhead Swing. If he does it, but inputs it downwards, it allows him to do a spinning hammer swing. The Overhead Swing can deal extremely high damage and knockback, being able to KO at as early as 51% if sweetspotted at the head of the hammer, and buries opponents, but is very laggy, while the Spinning Hammer Swing can hit from behind, and is fast, while much weaker, KO'ing at approximately 99% in the back, and 114% in the front, if sweetspotted at the head of the hammer. Both the moves deal extremely high shield damage, with the Overhead Swing dealing the most shield damage, being able to instantly shatter shields. Spinning Hammer Swing has a lot less lag than Overhead Hammer Swing. Spinning Hammer Swing and Overhead Hammer swing are dubbed "Down Smash 1" and "Down Smash 2", respectfully. The hammer swings are based on his hammer attacks in Klonoa Heroes. Thanks to this, it makes Klonoa the first character to have two of a single Smash attack, being the hammer swings share the same input, but will change depending on the angle. Both being based on his hammer swings, both weak and strong hits from Klonoa Heroes. Down Smash 1's back hit has stronger KO power, but is still much weaker than Down Smash 2.)

Overhead Hammer Swing(sourspotted): 11-18%

Up Smash: Swings the Wind Hammer over him twice. Slow, but powerful, especially if they're sweetspotted by the head of the hammer. Can be able to hit the opponent with the second hit when they try to air-dodge the first hit. The first hit can pull in the opponents, regardless of where it's hit, but the sweetspot of the attack pulls the opponent into the second hit sweetspotted, while sourspotted pushes the opponent away to be hit by the second hit's sweetspot, where it be combo'd into the second hit, where, if sweetspotted, can deal a high amount of knockback, KO'ing as early as 104%. Can be followed-up after a forward throw or down throw, but deals the most damage if the opponent is in front, as the first hit will have low enough knockback to keep the opponent at place for the second hit to hit, and that it'll connect much easier. Based on one of Klonoa's hammer attacks in Namco x Capcom.

Air moves:
N-Air: A jump kick. Comes out at frame 4, and is a sex-kick, being able to stay out for a period of time.

F-Air: Overhead Wind Blade swing: Klonoa will do a very quick overhead swing with his Wind Blade, and quickly recovering, allowing him to do another quickly, which it hits at frame 5. Due to its low knockback, it can jab-lock opponents at lower than , and can combo easily.

B-Air: Spins while slashing behind with his Wind Blade, following up with a small burst of explosion. It has pretty good knockback, especially the burst hit, and decent range, being able to KO at 102%. The small explosion can also push Klonoa forwards, slightly increasing his horizontal recovery.
Spin hit(1-3): 2%
Burst: 7%

D-Air: Downwards Arm Cannon blast: Aims his arm cannon downwards, and fires a giant spiked ball. Deadly spiking power, damage and knockback, but long ending lag. What makes this aerial unique, is that it can be angled forward downwards, or back downwards, making Klonoa's edge guarding game more devastating. Can launch Klonoa slightly upwards, but due to the moderate ending lag, it is somewhat unreliable as a recovery tool. As it goes further, it can deal more damage, and make more spiking power. Can only spike in the air.
Point Blank: 13%
End of travel distance: 16%

U-Air: Klonoa throws a boomerang upwards, and the boomerang comes back to Klonoa while turning to move in a circle to go to Klonoa's front view, depending on which direction Klonoa is looking at. Can be used as an anti-aerial, and as a juggling tool, but is overall situational, for its use. However, it can drag opponents towards Klonoa. Should the opponent be caught, they will have some hitstun on them that can make them easy to follow-up with an up-smash, or a down-smash.

Get-up Attack(front): Gets up, lunges the ring in front of him, and then punches behind him.

Get-up Attack(back): Gets up, swings the ring behind him, and then swings the ring in front of him.

Get-up Attack(trip): Kicks in front of him and swings the ring behind him as he gets up.

Ledge Attack: As he gets up, he then does a low-dropkick.

On-Screen Appearance:
A gust of wind appears in the battlefield, where Klonoa appears. He briefly spins the ring around his finger, and then grips hold of the ring.


Hurtsound:
-Makes a very small yelp when he gets normally damaged without critical hit in Klonoa Heroes, sometimes not making a sound when getting hurt(very minor hurt).

-Makes a small yelp(minor hurt)

-Makes a heavy yelp(very hurt).


Grab:
He will use the Wind Bullet on the opponent. Unlike what's portrayed in the game, the opponent appears in front of him instead of carried over Klonoa when caught. But it's for Smash Bros purposes. If dash grab is used, Klonoa will fire his Wind Bullet, while diving to the ground, briefly reducing his hurtbox. Can be used in the air.

Pummel:
Hits the opponent with his ring. Moderately slow, but deals a good amount of damage.

Throws:
Foward Throw: Throws opponents fowards, the same way as Klonoa did when he throws his caught opponent. Decent knockback and damage, but if the thrown opponent hits another opponent, the other opponent is hit with a bit more knockback.

Down Throw: Slams his caught opponent on the ground. Very quick, has low knockback, and can have low knockback to launch opponents not too far to still start combos at as low as 50%, making it a useful combo tool. It is a weak throw, KO'ing until 240%. Used in the air, can throw the opponent downwards, while boosing Klonoa upwards. Alternatively, can use jump to so the same for the aerial version.

Back Throw: Spins around, then throws them behind him. A kill throw, as it can KO until 160% in center stage, and 130% at the ledge. Can KO more earlier if near the edge of the screen, and used with the air-grab, making Klonoa be able to kill much earlier.

Up Throw: Throws his opponent upwards. Not sure of the use.

-Off-stage:
a. He will sometimes say "I'm sorry..." (ごめんなさい Gomen'nasai) (Less Likely to occur)
b. Makes a very loud yelp of being KO'd (More likely to occur)

-Star KO: Makes the same sound when he falls into a pitfall, but is echoed.

-Screen KO: Flies to the screen and flops on the screen, when he falls off the screen, his hat falls off of him.


Stunned animation:
-Klonoa sits down with his "x" eyes, while waving his white flag. Can be effective, if the opponent is merciful enough. Based on his game over animation from the original Door to Phantomile, with the "x" eyes is based on his similar facial expression when he's in 4th place in Alpine Racer 3.


Sleeping Animation:
-Same sleeping animation he does in Empire of Dreams.


Teetering Animation:
-Klonoa will do a similar animation when he is teetering in Lunatea's Veil, or the Wii remake. Additionally, Klonoa will sometimes say "otto"(Japanese for "woah").


Taunts:
-(Up taunt) Huepow flies out of the ring, floats around for a bit, and flies back into his ring.

-(Side taunt) Klonoa will cross his arms, with the wind blowing his ears behind him. Based on one of his taunt poses in Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil.

-(Down taunt) Klonoa jumps in the air and shouts his trademark "Wahoo!", whilst doing an air punch and looking at the screen. Similar to Kirby's "hi" taunt.

Victory Poses:
-Klonoa runs around with Huepow, and after Huepow went back into the Ring, Klonoa aims the ring at the screen and poses, while shouting his signature "wahoo!". Same pose done in the American Boxart of Door to Phantomile.

-Klonoa cross his arms with his index finger pointing out from his left hand, while the wind blows Klonoa's ears behind him, while he says "Rupurudu!" (In his fictional language, it means "Let's go!").
-This Victory Pose is used for his Team Battle Victory Pose, if they don't have the highest score/stock count.

-Klonoa flies in the victory area with his air board, jumps off his air board, then onto his feet, and then strikes a V sign, while he says "I'm ready for you, Gantz!"(私はあなたのための準備ができています、ガンツ!Watashi wa anata no tame no junbi ga dekite imasu, gantsu!).

-Klonoa performs a blackflip, and does an air punch, while shouting "Wahoo!". Based on his win animation in Klonoa Beach Volleyball. This is Klonoa's default Team Battle Victory Pose, if Klonoa is able to get the highest score/stock count.


No Contest/Losing animation:
-Klonoa will wave the white flag, while sitting down looking defeated and covered in bandages. Based on his game over screen from the original Door to Phantomile.


Idle animations:
-1. He does the same standing animation in his GameBoy incarnations, aside from Densetsu no Star Medal.

-2.a)Klonoa will yawn and stretch his arms. Based on his idle animation from the Wii Remake.

-2.b)He pulls off hat, spins his hat around, and puts it back on. Based on one of his idle animations from Empire of Dreams and Dream Champ Tournament.



Palutena's Guidance:
Pit: Hey, who's this little guy here?

Palutena: That's Klonoa. He's a young hero that saved Phantomile, and Lunatea, and is known as a "Dream Traveler". He even managed to restore the moon to the sky after the moon shattered. Unfortunately, his grandfather died at one point, and he is seperated from his best friend at one time.

Pit: Wait, really? Poor guy, he's got a rough past...

Palutena: Pretty much of what's happened to him currently. Interestingly enough, similar to our situation, his game series is left absent for about 8 years.

Pit: 8 years? That's half the amount of we've been absent for...

Pit: But wait, about restoring the shattered pieces of the moon to the sky, I believe it's not Arlon's Moon Fortress?

Viridi: Of course not! I don't remember that long eared... thing, will fix Arlon's Moon Fortress!

Pit: Right, haha... It does beg the question however... what species... is that thing?

Viridi: Now that you think of it, that species is not of what I've seen before!

Pit: A dog?

Viridi: Puh-lease! It looks nothing like a dog! It looks more like a rabbit! A cute, little, rabbit!

Palutena: Well, I feel that it's a cat instead.

Viridi: What makes you think it's a cat, when it looks like a rabbit?

Palutena: Well, because of my Vision of the "All-Seeing-Eye of Nature"

Viridi: You're joking around, are you? Because I would've had that power, if it even existed...

Pit: Right...! But anyways, what's this giant ring she has?

Palutena: That's the Wind Bullet, this giant ring can inflate enemies with a small concentrated ball of wind with a small touch. However, it doesn't seem to affect any one of us somehow...

Pit: It can inflate enemies? Are you sure that it's considered, a bad thing, Lady Palutena?

Viridi: Just watch out, Pit. He may be lightweight, but some of his moves can deal a ton of damage.

Pit: Okay, any more I can learn about Klonoa?

Palutena: He has an arsenal of weapons he can use in battle, he can use swords, boomerangs, arm cannons and a shield. While it seems that he has large ears that can allow him to fly, he doesn't seem to fly that often. He can even grab in the air, too, so watch out.

Pit: He's been absent for a long time, and doesn't know how to fly? I think he and I will get along pretty well.

Palutena: For now, start fighting, friendships later, Pit.

Viridi: And I'll be sure to find what true species of animal he is...


Snake's Codec Conversation:
Snake: Mei Ling, who is this... rabbit, cat-thing?

Mei Ling: That right here, is Klonoa.

Snake: Klonoa? Who is he?

Mei Ling: Klonoa is a character that seems to be not known by many, overlooked in fact. He is actually one of the other video games to start off in the Playstation 1 instead of the Nintendo 64

Snake: Hmm... a fellow comrade, I presume?

Mei Ling: Well, unfortunately, he originally was going to have a GameCube port of his game on the PS2, but was cancelled, and for unknown reasons.

Snake: Well then... a supposed fallen comrade, hmm? But still, anything to watch out for?

Mei Ling: He has an arsenal of weapons, kind of like Link. He can use the Arm Cannon, a Giant Ring called the "Wind Bullet", a Sword, a Shield, a Hammer, and a boomerang. His weapons can deal a lot of damage to you, but keep in mind, that he won't have the safest options afterwards.

Snake: Well, I guess I can take him down pretty quickly, if I can try to exploit his weaknesses.

Mei Ling: Good luck Snake.


Aesthetics:
=Klonoa appears in his attire based off of the Smashified design by default. Some of his appearances is altered, such as being much more colorful, having slightly bigger fangs, and his Wind Ring being brighter, and more colorful.

=His walking animation is based off of Lunatea's Veil, while the running animation can be based on his running animation in Namco X Capcom, but with less awkward movement.

=Voiced by Kumiko Watanabe, albeit with voice clips used in the Wiimake of Door to Phantomile, Lunatea's Veil, and with redone voice clips from Klonoa Heroes: Densetsu no Star Medal.

=Some of his attack animations are mostly based on his attacks in Namco X Capcom, but some animations originating in Klonoa Heroes: Legend of the Star Medal, such as his hammer swing.

=Some of his palette swaps/attire are based on his other incarnations, while one is his costume, and one more as a costume based on another character.

=Klonoa's ears and tail move depending on whether he's falling, the direction of wind, vacuum effect, or gravity.

=Klonoa's front hair, if using his Lunatea's Veil incarnation or his Summer Costume is also affected by wind, vacuum effect, or gravity.

=Unlike what's portrayed in his own game, the Wind Bullet doesn't inflate anyone, instead, the caught character will only have a green glow on them if they get caught by the Wind Bullet.

=If Klonoa wears his Ghadius attire, then the cloak is affected by the wind, vacuum effect, or gravity.

=Klonoa, much like Marth, Roy and Cloud, mostly speaks Japanese.

=If Klonoa holds an item, unless he's holding a Moo/Boomie, his Wind Ring will be seen hanging at his wrist. The ring is effected by wind, vaccum effect, and the gravity, but not by much compared to a cloak, cape, etc.

=His slow walk is given a menacing animation, possibly meant to be based off of his dark doppelgänger, Nightmare Klonoa.

=Klonoa is now seen to be much more expressive, compared to his other appearances in his home game. He is even seen to be more cheerful during taunts.


Pros:
+Smash attacks deal good damage and knockback.

+Decent air game.

+Many of Klonoa's attacks will have a windbox close to the hitbox of his attacks, except for his jabs, tilts, N-air, get-up attacks, and all of his specials, outside from his Beam Gnome attack.

+Jab is a good out-of-shield option, poke, can be used to identify opponent's habits, and is safe against shield, thanks to its very low lag.
+Thanks to this, it can be a decent combo-starter.

+Has the ability to grab while in mid-air, which can enhance his off-stage kill options.

+Tornado Attack is an excellent defensive move, having both intangability frames, and keeps the opponents away with a strong gust of wind, causing them to be put in hitstun from the hit, and not causing hitstun on opponents in free-fall, making it effective as an offstage gimp.

+Wind Bullet has very little lag, making it easy to quickly use the move when you missed, even in the air.

+When he grabs someone in mid-air, while still in mid-air, he can only use his down throw, which Klonoa throws his enemy downwards, but with low launching power, while launching himself upwards, aiding his recovery.

+Has decent vertical and horizontal recovery.

+Moo Jump can be more useful as a gimping tool than Sonic's, as Klonoa's can launch the opponent at a lower angle, has a bit more hitstun.

+Being lightweight, he can recover more easier.

+F-air can be a useful aerial combo tool

+His air jump has one of the highest double jump heights, being beaten by Yoshi and Falco

+Beam Gnome reflects projectiles.

+Thanks to Beam Gnome's ability to move while it's in use, and can reflect projectiles, it can be used to out-space projectile users. Thus, making Beam Gnome an excellent approach option against projectile users.

+Some of his moves have disjointed range, allowing him to attack from a safe distance.

+Down Smash is useful for edge-guarding and for breaking shields.

+Klonoa, aside from his weight and fallspeed, he can footstool slightly higher when on air than most characters, and can footstool about 6 times before landing.

+Short grab time for a medium ranged grab, making it very easy to use the decently ranged grab again, after whiffing, or to punish the opponents trying to punish you with a grab, by using jab, or forward tilt.

+His Down Smash can be used differently if you inputted in either downwards, or forward, to execute a different attack.

+All of his Smash attacks, F-air, U-air, and B-air have windboxes near the hitboxes of the attacks.


Cons:
-Being lightweight, he gets KO'd easier.

-Klonoa's frame data on some of his attacks, especially his stronger attacks, are sluggish.

-His grab, while very quick and decently ranged, is balanced with having him have only 1 frame in his grab, making grabbing in the air already pretty strict.

-Despite being at a similar height as Sonic, albeit shorter, he is much lighter than Sonic.

-D-air is slightly slower than B-air, U-air, F-air and N-air.

-F-air is easy to DI out of in medium to high percentages.

-His footstool jumps raise him upwards more shorter when footstooling an opponent on ground.

Klonoa is a young boy that has a kind heart and strong will, doing anything he can to protect his friends. Also known as the Dream Traveler, and is sometimes refered to as "Klonoa of the Wind", he has done a lot to save the world from evil, such as saving the world from nightmares caused by Ghadius, restoring the moon to the sky, and saving Emperor Jillius from Bagoo, who was manipulating him. Despite his heroic sense, he is very uneasy around water and heights. Even if his opponents can be powerful, he never tries to gives up.

I can try to add a bit more/tweak this a bit. But I guess buffs and nerfs will be possible if I have a bit more time.

Even then, I'm aware that Klonoa has a low chance to be in, like a longshot, due to his obscurity from the majority of the gaming audience. Though, I still believe he would be a great character to have in future Super Smash Bros games. Smash for the Nintendo Switch especially.

I can see that you put a lot of time and effort into this.
I feel Klonoa would be best as a Mid-tier really, pretty good attacks.

I agree with everything you said! Ever since 09' i've dreampt of this character being in smash and sadly never happened but he'd make one of the coolest characters! I also pictured his moveset to be similiar to the one you said besides having up B lightning moo and down B similar to peaches turnip pull xD

I guess it would be interesting to see Klonoa have Down B like Peach's turnip, and Up B being an electric Moo instead. X3

(Now I do it here, just for the Custom Moves, because they're a PAIN to edit it in. But anyways, it's been a long time, since I touched this thread, ye?)

Custom Neutral B 1:
Wind Boomerang - Klonoa throws the boomerang at 5 directions, back, diagonally behind, upwards, diagonally forward, and in front of him, while the boomerang returns back to him. If the opponent is caught by the boomerang as it's returning to Klonoa, the boomerang can pull the opponent towards Klonoa, while putting them in minor hitstun, making it useful for starting certain combos, and racking up a ton of damage from a potent combo. Can be easily escaped with SDI, and is slow, but can be useful for spacing, and extending combos at medium percentages. Can pierce through opponents, if the opponent is at 0%.
Multi hit(forward): 1.5%
Multi hit(backward): 0.7%

Custom Neutral B 2:
Bombs - Klonoa uses one of the same bombs used by Pango. Klonoa will throw the bombs at an arc, exploding upon contact. Has a rather average sized hitbox if it explodes, making it useful for edge-guarding, and useful for spacing. Deals moderate damage, and can deal some damage to shields. However, if timed just right, the opponent can grab the bomb, which can be used against him. Deals more damage if directly hit than with splash. Based on Pango's grenade throw from Klonoa Heroes.
Direct: 11%
Splash: 7%


Custom Side B 1:
Wind Hammer - Klonoa spins around in rapid speeds with the Wind Hammer, dealing massive damage and knockback. Doesn't travel much distance, and lacks the reflector, but makes up for being a kill-move, possessing super armor during the start and end of the duration, and still being a decent, if mediocre recovery move. If held down, Klonoa will slam his Hammer in the direction he's going to, having a huge windbox in front of him, and a small wind box from behind. Can be useful for KO'ing offstage with the opponent, but will most likely result in a Klono-cide, as Klonoa's spike hitbox of the overhead swing is too far from himself, where he can't reach the ledge close enough, without spiking the opponent, unless Klonoa does it in a higher spot, that can ensure the chance of grabbing the ledge. However, is much more useful in breaking shields, if the opponent is careless. Slow start-up, and moderately high ending lag. Can connect up to 2-3 hits in low percentage, but will have too much knockback to connect in mid-percents. Much like the Down Smash hammer attacks, has a sourspot and sweetspot.

Spin(sourspot): 6%
Overhead Swing(sweetspot): 18%
Overhead Swing(sourspot): 8%

Custom Side B 2:
Wind Board - Klonoa quickly pulls out the Wind Board to ride towards a direction, ramming into his opponents. Sacrifices damage and protectiveness for increase speed, lower gravity, and falling speed, strictly meant for recovery, while providing some protection. Travels a much larger distance compared to the others, and can allow you to jump-cancel the move. Can be used again, if hit/gimped.


Custom Down B 1:
Moo throw (Klonoa will pull out a Moo from who-knows-where, and will be thrown by the player if they pressed the throw button. It has very long range, being able to reach from one edge to 1/2 of the stage of Final Destination, but the Moo flies at a slow speed. High damage and medium knockback. Klonoa can only throw one Moo, which as soon as one disappears/hits an opponent, he can throw another Moo. There's a 89.975% chance of Klonoa pulling out a regular Moo, 5% of pulling out an Erbil, 4.875% chance of pulling out a Bandana Moo(dealing super high knockback and damage if hit), and 0.125% chance of pulling out a Boomie. It's not as strong as the bob-omb, in terms of damage and knockback, but the hitbox of the Boomie is larger. The Bandana Moo can deal very high damage and knockback, KO'ing at as little as 60%. The Erbil can fire a very fast electrical beam that flies across the map, similar to Robin's Thoron.)

Custom Down B 2:
Counter - Klonoa holds up his Beam Gnome in a defensive position, waiting to retaliate from an attack. Upon getting hit, he spins around quickly, to retaliate. Has a unique property of being able to hit in both sides, regardless of where he's hit, and projectiles won't trigger the counter, instead nullifying the projectile. With that good of a defensive game, has a very weak counter strength, dealing only 1.15x of the attack hit by it, and short range.


Custom Up B 1:
Teton - Klonoa, instead of grabbing onto an ordinary Moo, latches onto a Teton instead. The Tetons make Klonoa move slowly upwards, allowing the player to have more horizontal control over his recovery, but have slower vertical movement, making him more vulnerable. He can use it again, should he be gimped. Despite being similar to Snake's Cypher, and Mega Man's Beat, this is based on an enemy that does that purpose when caught by the Wind Bullet. However, unlike the other two, Teton can be thrown, but only at where Klonoa is facing, and directly forward, meaning life-or-death for Klonoa, if he's able to stage-spike the opponent trying to edge-guard him.
Thrown: 8%

Custom Up B 2:
Erbil - Klonoa uses the double jump, but uses the Erbil instead of an ordinary Moo. The Erbil charges its electricity, and shoots out a very powerful electric zap from underneath, launching Klonoa upwards really far, and so quickly, making it relatively unpredictable, once Klonoa is launched upwards. As he rises upwards, he gains super armor during the start, and as Klonoa rises upwards, and can hit opponents on the way up, dealing heavy electrical damage. The electrical zap shot from under the Erbil from the double jump, can spike the opponent throughout the entire duration of the electrical bolt striking down the opponents from underneath. However, to compensate this, Klonoa will suffer from helplessness as he reaches the apex of the move, and a very long ending lag by 72 frames, should Klonoa land on the stage, after whiffing the attack, and not grab the ledge, making Klonoa very vulnerable at that very moment. High risk, high reward, being hard to hit, but is able to KO at low percentages at about 60%, if fresh. The electrical bolt usually KOs earlier, especially as it spikes its opponents.

Erbil electrical bolt: 14%

I would like to see Klonoa, especially since only one Namco character was in Smash Bros 4. However, to be realistic, whether or not we'll see a Smash Bros game for Switch is really up to Masahiro Sakurai.

Yep, much of it is on Masahiro Sakurai. Although... with his physical injuries, such as on his arm, would be something if whether he'd go for it or not. :x

I can see what you're doing with this moveset, though in my opinion I think it would be better if Klonoa played a bit more like his home series games. That's why I feel his Wind Bullet neutral special should work basically like his Wind Bullet in the game, where he grabs an opponent and he holds their inflated body above his head and can move freely. There he can throw them forward with attack or special or use them as an extra jump in mid air throwing them down. Of course like most command grabs the inflated opponent can eventually break free of this.

For his up special I was thinking he could use the flying enemy Teton from Road to Phantomile (Or a Kiton from Lunatea's Veil as they're functionally the same) which in the games would pull Klonoa upward when he captured them until he threw them forwards or downwards like any enemy, which I think would be excellent for an up special. There could be a timing element where Klonoa goes into the helpless state if he uses it all the way but can avoid this by tossing them early. I think Klonoa works best as a tactical lightweight with high knockback attacks and good recovery options, as that reflects the way he plays in his main platformer series and would make for a unique and interesting fighter.
