Assuming I have a normal work schedule, I can probably host a small thing with just a few of us Thursday evening to get some practice in. Personally I'm pretty open starting around 3:30 PM or so and going pretty late so, assuming Thursday is not a bad day for people, it should be pretty flexible.

Yeah, tomorrow is good; getting in practice before this weekend would be nice!

I don't work until the evening Friday so I can stay up Thursday, but I don't know how late you get off. How late are you thinking?

If I brought a 64 would anyone want to play, or is this specifically a melee tourney practice thing? I guess I'm not even invited yet anyway.

Lol, i assumed it was practice for gigamelee, which does have brawl doesn't it, actually. I didn't know many people around here actually played brawl. Well, Ampharos is fine with it I may be able to show up, can bring a 64 and 4 controllers. I have been to one of Jace's smashfests and last weeks Cherry Smash, no matter how many hours we played I left both of them wanting more.

as much as they want to call it gigamelee it is gigabrawl and is a circuit event for brawl lol. the only reason why melee is in there was that the circuit leaders decided that there was enough melee interest in the surrounding states to tack on an extra day of melee. and yeah the brawl scene has very few players around here, most people converted to a different game lol

9-10 is pretty reasonable; I wouldn't expect anything big at all regardless. Personally the only games I'm really interested in are Brawl and Bbrawl, but you can bring whatever you want if you can find someone who wants to play with you I guess. I'm not attending the Melee event but wouldn't mind playing a few games of it (with people who are also willing to play Brawl); I can't stand smash 64 though...

Also, yeah, a lot of the KC brawl players proved not to be very dedicated, but we still have some quality players in an overall region that is quite serious about Brawl. I wouldn't feel bad about the game's prospects; it's doing well.

So, um, show up sometimes after 4 I guess, and the place should be easy to find for anyone who forgot or has never been. I'm too lazy to type anything up again so I'll just link to the last time I explained it.

I've just been so busy working on Balanced Brawl that I haven't played much Brawl (Balanced or otherwise!).
Blazblue is pretty good too though; v13 is just way too much fun, and the shortcut commands for pad players are a brilliant innovation (though they apparently made the very foolish mistake of allowing them to be disabled online). It's just a shame the game is so combo heavy and technical; it would be the best traditional fighter if it wasn't. At least it's a lot better than Guilty Gear about that...

No tech skill, no combos, and campy characters. Yeah you sound like a Brawl player alright.

Me and my friends went to the tournament yesterday and we found out we have a lot of work to do. However it was still very fun and we appreciated it. We hope to praticipate in more tournaments in the future.

I would play blazeblue, but after watching Ky lose to the v-13 player... it looks worse than brawl.

As for KC's brawl scene though, it's not dead nor dying.... it's just not as active as I would like. MJG and I play when we can, stealth plays when he isn't working / other stuffs. Our scene isn't dead, I just took 5th tying with KY and getting 1 under domo (losing to 1st and 2nd place AGAIN >.>)... so at least we're holding our own with wichita's best, and they're smash scene is 5 times larger than ours.

Well me and my friends live north of Kansas City like 45. SO if there are any tournaments in that area we would love to go.
