Kamemushi Joins DetonatioN Gaming!

Player Takuto "Kamemushi" Ono has just been signed by Japanese eSports team DetonatioN. This is following some top placings by the Mega Man main extraordinaire, which includes various 1st places at the Umebura tournament series, and a second place at EVO 2016 after defeating Gonzalo "ZeRo" Barrios.

The official statement is in Japanese. You can read it right here, or you can find a translation here:

It's the man who got 2nd place at his first international tournament, EVO 2016...Kameme has joined DetonatioN Gaming!

Kameme, formerly known as Kamemushi, saw his talent blossom in 2016, and immediately saw a slew of great results. Starting in the spring, he won KSB2016, multiple Umeburas and other tournaments in the Kansai region, and at his first international event took 2nd place out of 2637 at Evo 2016, as the highest placing Japanese player.

Kameme
The player who made a name for himself with his incredible Megaman play. His playstyle is contingent on his commitment to the hardest punish to secure victory. His natural feel for the game shines through when he pulls off a difficult footstool combo, or precisely KOs his opponent with a quick up-tilt.

*Kameme is currently not a full-time, salaried player.
Translation by Soma of Source Gaming

The only other Smash 4 player sponsored by DtN is Nietono, who is a full-time, salaried player, according to their website. Nitetono was signed full-time in April, and went to CEO, Apex, and EVO, but hasn't gone to any international tournaments since then. As of the time of writing, he is not registered for The Big House 6.

So what do you think? Do you expect more Japanese players to be picked up? Let us know in the comments! Be sure to follow Kameme on Twitter @kameme8808.

If he's not a full time salaried player then what is he? So he just gets money to go to american majors?
In japan, being sponsored usually means that. Most players in Japan have full-time jobs and/or university (why Ranai can't attend Civil War, for instance).

I think Ranai can go. I believe civil war was slated for 2016 some time, and Ranai couldn't go, but they moved it to spring 2017 So maybe he can go now
