How does generic apply here? He is been the game's bad guy since DK Country, maybe he doesn't appear in the DK gamecube games, that doesn't take away from him that he is DK's villain.

Disappointing. It should have logically been K. Rool's army who stole DK's bananas. How can Bowser, who Donkey has only seen in sports and party games, possibly compare to the long-standing conflict between the Kongs and K. Rool?

... Who later apologized and explained that he was under pressure during the development of Yoshi's Island to give it more of a 'DKC-feel'. In other words, to make the graphics pre-rendered silicon models. I doubt he dislikes a game he helped make.

And if Nintendo had a disliked for the DKC's, they would've of been on the VC, nor would they of bothered getting Rare to make the GBA remakes, and I doubt Reggie would've said 'and we're the ones who brought you Donkey Kong Country' at that one E3 conference a year or two back.

Seriously, I hate all this crap about how the DKC's were just about graphics. Yeah, that's how it was marketed, but it's that emphasis on graphics that helped the game propel the SNES ahead of the Genesis. The gameplay itself distanced itself as much as it needed to from your generic platforming fair; you had a wide arrange of animal vehicles, barrel blasting and tag team gameplay.

Acting as if Nintendo's revolutionized the series again by ramming the franchise into the ground with a series of unpopular gimmick titles (No, Jungle Beat didn't sell well, and this is coming from somebody who LIKED it. Neither did Konga 2, 3, King of Swing or Barrel Blast) is a complete joke, especially since they seem so adamant at using Rare's vision of the character.

This has nothing to do with K. Rool. You just don't like DKC, and you don't remember the profound effect the series originally had on the industry in the 16-bit console wars. I bet you didn't even think Diddy Kong deserved to be a newcomer.

But it can't be perfect... unless, they add villans fo Lucas, um, the one guy from Fire Emblem, Pokemon Trainer (they better not for him > No other trainers.. but if Mewtwo's back, that'll work for me), the Star Fox characters (didn't Sakurai say taht he intended 2 bring Falco back with a new moveset?)...

i do agree that with Dedede's inclusion, Sakurai is putting villians on his mind when it comes to Smash. i really hope the K. Rool makes it in as a playable character

King K. Rool IS going to be in this game. theres no fighting it. the arguement is there, every series hero is in, thus, the series villan is going to be in. its enevitable.
the only people you could argue is the new characters just added. (snake, sonic, lucas, etc with the more new to come whoever it may be)
even then, the 4th smash will then contain robotnik, liquid, etc.

i never even thought about that...

maybe they could make a sheik like constume transform and his b specails differ with the constume?

Ganon & Mewtwo will be in, most likely with tweaks. Ridley will be in or people will commit suicide / suicide bomb Sakurai.

As for K.Rool... the DK series needs at least another rep. His inclusion is logical, he was on the poll and Brawl needs more crocodiles...let's keep our fingers crossed and believe.

I don't know why people don't think he should be in as a playable character. I mean, there are a ton of moveset possibilities for him, unlike a couple other characters that have gotten in, and he is a villain, which Smash could use more of.

Exactly. They made a moveset for the Ice Climbers. All they did in their game was jump and smack their mallet with B. Thats it. No ice breath, nothing.. And K. Rool has attacks in his game, he has more variety than them, and they were a success. K. Rool has every right to be in.

After the announcement of King DDD I feel like King K. Rool chances are a lot better.

Moveset would be easy and interesting. He can charge, throw crowns, stomp, make cannon balls fall, and has TONS of minions. Those little blue crocodiles could be nice projectiles.

He could make freakin cannonballs fall from the sky for his final smash. If you think gigantic falling cannonballs isnt enough to get a guy into smash then I dont know what im playing these games for.

I think K. Rool should be in the game too. Is a cool and funny villain. In my opinion, if he's going to be in brawl he should be like he was in DKC 2, where he was wearing his Captain suit and had his huge fiery weapon. He was pretty cool.

Other than K. Rool, the next closest DK relative to make it in (other than Cranky which is laughable) would be Dixie, but seeing as it's been confirmed that Dixie is nothing more than an alternate costume for Diddy, Dixie won't be in. K. Rool has to be in; all other DK relatives (Kiddy, Tiny, Lanky, and Chunky) have only been in one game, making their inclusion an assist trophy at best.
