I was, to a degree. Those characters were in Melee, albeit as trophis.

Never heard of her, never heard of the game and I am guessing a lot of people have...
I don't care if she gets in or not than. =| I just think that Claus, Sukapon and Takamaru will get in. If Lip gets in. That's cool I guess.

If it is true that Sakurai said he wanted a game where Kirby meets Stafy, then he MAY be in Smash, seeing as this is basically Sakurai's last game to use Kirby...

They'd be the last 3rd party so no, also why doesn't Sakurai take Kirby with him? He did make the series.Tales Characters are quite possible in Japan due to large popularity, but unfortunately not over here

Lol I know what you mean.
Hal is the best developer to make Kirby games, It is not a good Idea to let other developers take the Kirby series, because maybe they will not handle Kirby well or change stuff or miss represent him or change what makes Kirby Kirby.
Sakurai made the right choice leaving Kirby with Hal.

Don't you think Sakurai would do a good job of representing his own creation? I'm thinking he left him with HAL, because of the stresses he faced with creating Kirby games. He complained about people always wanting and demanding more from him, right after a game was released. Also, I think he did it to indicate that he's moving on now, and to show HAL that he no longer has any hard feelings towards them.

Yes, Part of this is true, He did say that he gets tired of making squeals so he moved from Hal to start out fresh, He told them he will be sad if Kirby might not get new games anymore because of this, so he told them to continue making the series.
The fact that he doesn't want to make squeals led him to leave Kirby with Hal, Knowing that they ARE the safe place for Kirby to be in.

I'd say Starfy vs. Kirby. (Both star people)
Takamaru vs. Ike. (Both master sword users)
Claus vs. Samus. (Both wear high tec. robotic suits and sweet as hell)
Sukapon vs. Mr. Game & Watch. (Both wierd looking and cool at the same time)
Lip vs. Yoshi. (Tetris Attack and Panel De Pon was basicly the same game)
That's just about what I look forward if I see any of them in Brawl as PC.

I'm sure some of the Japan-only characters that are harder to expand with movesets will be assist trophies. After seeing Saki, I'm pretty sure Sukapon won't be playable, considering what Sakurai said about him before (which for some odd reason people don't want to listen to). In all seriousness though, my bias aside, If Takamaru is in this,(according to comments from Sakurai) it can be logically concluded that HE WILL be playable. Seems to be the Japan-only character Sakurai is most interested in.
Although this has nothing to do with fact, they are pretty hungry for a samurai character over there. One person in particular was asking Sakurai about adding a samurai into the next game (this was on a feedback section on the Japanese melee site). The character that came to Sakurai's mind was Takamaru. But anyway, I don't know why you guys are getting so upset over characters you don't know, I'm sure the AVERAGE person generally not into video games will not recognize, Pit or Ike. And also, basically ALL the characters we want THEY want, PLUS they want some Japan-only characters. No matter which way it goes, we wouldn't get any US Europe exclusives anyway.
Well next weekend the final roster will be revelaed, so we shall all see then.

If that is the "we can't put him in melee, because he has weird physics" or something, it's because brawl is using a different physics engine and thus that is unlikely to be a problem this time around. At least, thats what i heard.

As for all this Japan only hate, i don't understand it.
You don't need to know every character in the series, i know i didn't know cpt.falcon when 64 was out nor did i know Samus, i had heard of F-zero, but i didn't know that was him. nor did i know Ness.
Infact, i thought they had made up Ness for smashbros. just to represent a gamer as a whole and named him after NES (which the name part turned out true)
Did i hate that i didn't know the origins of 25% of the roster? No. I thought it was cool to play with characters i'd never seen before, to get a feel for who they were, with out seeing a word of text about them, just from their moves and their stage.
Ignoring their odd play style, who hated ICs because they didn't know them, or G&W (though i did know him). I just saw them as a character someone else knew.
A little present for the fans of their game, and a mystery box for everyone else to explore.
Their are enough characters now, that if you don't have some of your favorites in, then chances are you have some really odd tastes, your pet character might not be in, but some you love must be.
While i can see getting agitated when 1/2 the roster is unknown to you, I don't understand wanting all, or almost all, the characters known to you to the point where you don't want people who's favorite character is someone you don't know to get their character in.
