Roy had a game coming out, I meant RETRO japan only, ok? and FE was a big franchise at the time in Japan not a one hit wonder.just like adding two japan-only FE characters is pushing it, AMIRITE LOL.

Sakurai stated he wanted to stay away from including way too many Japan only characters, including two RETRO ones, is pushing it.Also there are fans in Japan who may want those retro japan characters so don't assume they have no chance as this game is coming outin Japan as well.
Marth has a DS game coming out so he won't be Japan only anymore.ok then Lucas, Claus, Marth and Sukapon/Takamaru/Starfy if anything. I really don't want Ness replaced by Lucas just to have 1 mother rep again.
Oh yeah i forgot...so i change it to Lucas, Claus, Sukapon, and Takamaru/Starfy...though Starfy seems more likely than either Sukapon or Takamaru.Marth has a DS game coming out so he won't be Japan only anymore.
These characters are the ones who make the game more exciting and interesting.I don't want Brawl to be swamped with characters that make European and American gamers yell "Who the hell is that?"
yeah exactly. These characters are the ones who make the game more exciting and interesting.
That's more opinion than anything. These characters are the ones who make the game more exciting and interesting.
Not for everyone. Sure, the more characters, the better, but it just doesn't seem right to overly cater to what just one country wants (especially after what Sakurai said about limiting Japan-only characters). Much of the nostalgia contained in folks like Sukapon and Takamaru is lost on the rest of the world anyway. These characters are the ones who make the game more exciting and interesting.
I agree with that. I had never heard of Fire Emblem(except in Nintendo Power vol. 56, but that was a long time ago) before seeing Marth and Roy. Therefore, I was surprised and intrigued by their inclusion. These characters are the ones who make the game more exciting and interesting.
JPN only characters most likely will be limited, but only one more is downright reduckulous. Believe it or not, there are people outside of japan who know who these characters are. Heck, I knew about the famicom detective club long before I had the ability to utilize the internet. and I've seen people who knew about FE long before melee. There should be Claus to round out the Mother representation, and only ONE other. I don't care who it is, but I don't want Brawl to be swamped with characters that make European and American gamers yell "Who the hell is that?"
because we all know SSBB is being made in america, AMIRITE?I'm not saying they're bad characters or anything. It's just that outside of Japan, they have very little support and very little interest. Which is why they should be limited.

Variety is the spice of life, everyone! It would be rather dull and uncreative to play with the same characters in a fighting game all the time. Imagine what would happen if Mortal Kombat(in its golden years) only had "ninja" fighters in its roster(with pallette swaps, no less). Sounds redundant, does it not? We should be grateful that we are possibly going to get new unheard-of characters in Brawl's roster. I know I am.![]()
Yeah i know i've known about Starfi for i don't know how long and Starfi is pretty popular in japan.because we all know SSBB is being made in america, AMIRITE?
but in all seriousness, recognizability outside of japan doesn't matter all that much. Hell, sakurai (most likely) replaced a character well-known worldwide with a japan-only character. If that doesn't say something, I don't know what does..
Alright, I'll admit, four is reasonable, too. And Mother 3 doesn't exactly count, seeing as the series does have a foothold in America, and many Earthbound fans have played Mother 3 through roms and such.JPN only characters most likely will be limited, but only one more is downright reduckulous. Believe it or not, there are people outside of japan who know who these characters are. Heck, I knew about the famicom detective club long before I had the ability to utilize the internet. and I've seen people who knew about FE long before melee.

He was referring to Lucas replacing Ness. And as far as your second argument: What? If you're talking about the whole "Snake was replaced by Roy in Melee" thing, that wasn't because of Japanese demand. It was because of the lack of time. It was easier to slap in a clone of Marth that would serve as advertising (failed advertising, mind you) than to build an entirely new character with a fairly complex moveset.
Ah. Either way, it's still not the same. The Mother series HAS appeared in America, and a LOT of Earthbound fans have played Mother 3, or at least have researched it.He was referring to Lucas replacing Ness.
I've seen sites where is says Sukapon has a better chance than Stafy OR Takamaru...Oh yeah i forgot...so i change it to Lucas, Claus, Sukapon, and Takamaru/Starfy...though Starfy seems more likely than either Sukapon or Takamaru.
because we all know the opinions of one site is leagues above ours because it's in japanese, AMRITE?(I'm saying that word too much todayI've seen sites where is says Sukapon has a better chance than Stafy OR Takamaru...
IN Japanese too...
He hates us in a 50% according to your logic.Eh... Claus and Sukapon and if Sakurai hates us, he'll add Stafy or Takamaru.
I hope that Sakurai really, really hates us then.Eh... Claus and Sukapon and if Sakurai hates us, he'll add Stafy or Takamaru.
Mike's not North American only though... Star Tropics was also released Europe and I think Australia as well...I would like an american only character, like Mike Jones from Star Tropics.
Otherwise Japanese characters i want are Stafy and Claus
That's FE 1. Also, by the time Brawl comes out, he'll still be a Japan only character. He hates us in a 50% according to your logic.
Sukapon out, Takamaru in... AND Marth is no longer a Japan-Only character... FE11 anyone?
He's from a Japanese only game, but the CHARACTER has been in a US game, and has a game coming to the USThat's FE 1. Also, by the time Brawl comes out, he'll still be a Japan only character.
Why are people so uptight with Japan only characters? Really, they add more diversity.
It's still called FE11,also i'm totally Japan-Only pro...my bro isn't though. That's FE 1. Also, by the time Brawl comes out, he'll still be a Japan only character.
Why are people so uptight with Japan only characters? Really, they add more diversity.
Ayumi, Donbe, Hikari, and a number of other characters say hi.He's from a Japanese only game, but the CHARACTER has been in a US game, and has a game coming to the US
Are you as stupid as your acting right now?Ayumi, Donbe, Hikari, and a number of other characters say hi.
it was something I smelled....what? was it something i said?
