Jan 24th/Feb 10th Spoiler Prevention

Everyone here knows that when Brawl comes out the internet will be flooded with spoilers and whatnot. I think I may have come up with a solution to this unpreventable occurence.

- First off everyone on the board must promise to not post anything along the lines of "I just unlocked Olimar" or "Ridley is awesome!" This is the hardest part because there are people out there who like to aggravate others.

- Secondly a thread must be created named "Spoiler Prevention Center." I'll gladly run it if you want.

- Within the thread will be methods of unlocking characters but no names or franchises will be named. Instead of "To get Claus do this" or "For Bomberman try this" there will be "Play 100 vs matches" or "Accumulate 20 play hours"

- That way when the task is accomplished and the "Challenger Approaches" there will still be a sense of excitement that wasn't ruined by the web.

What do you think? Will it work? Would you participate? Feedback is encouraged.

The character section on the top will have all the unlocked characters on it so even going in this room will alert you to spoiler characters

If people are so worried about being spoiled about things like this why not just leave the forums until you've unlocked everything?

SSE spoilers, I can understand, but characters they aren't that big of a deal. I want to know them all right now!

You forgot two more important tips:

- Avoid SWF for those two weeks.

- If all else fails, avoid the internet completely.

A great Idea, but when some Noob signs up and starts spoling evereything... we'll have a problem. nobody on smashboards wants this to get ruined for them. I say refferal or Ban or somthing if you give out spoilers w/o

I think of this as a better alternative than not getting on smashboards till ive beaten the game or know whats in it.


I couldent care less about stage spoliers, and if we dont get the full roster by the time feb 10th comes, I'll know the entire thing before I get home from gamestop (or wherever) because im getting the strategy guide.

SSE spoilers will be evil to the extreem though.

Yeah, if you really want to be safe from spoilers, it'd be best to avoid smashboards altogether. Even if a system was set up (which I honestly doubt, as I don't think the majority of people here really care enough about spoilers and would probably reject any spoiler free idea for the forum), there are always going to be newbs who don't understand or know of it and the occasional jerk who deliberately spams unrelated threads with them. It'd be better to just have a hiatus from this forum (and probably the internet in general) until you unlock everyone if you are that concerned, though I warn you that there's a chance the roster could be leaked even before the Japanese release date.

Fixed. I added the only plausible way that one could not know about the spoilers until the North American release, and even then, you'd probably still hear it.
