Is Young Link Superior To Link?

I feel like his speed makes it way easier to pull of combos. What do you guys think?

His bombs are better, his boomerang is better, he is faster, he can combo fast fallers, he has good match ups against floaties, so yah I'd say YL is better, because the current Meta seems to value speed more than power and range

In Melee, Young Link is definitely better. He has speed that outweighs the strength of a few attacks that Link has in Melee. In PM Link is a monster though.

In PM link is better because young link does not exist in PM.

Yeah, he's better in most ways, only losing in some areas to Link (Grab range, KO moves, survivability) but most things tend to be in favor of Young Link.

Also young link is played by a lot of good players.

The best YL players are Armada and Axe.

With Link, it's basically Germ and like Stro, most people outside of Link/YL mains don't even know who Stro is. But everyone knows Armada and Axe, and most are farmiliar with Armada's YL.

So yeah YL is better

Also, pretty much the only match ups link has are ones where he out-tiers them. Young Link actually has a chance on Jiggs, Luigi, Ice Climbers and Peach. Just watch Axe he's beaten Chu, Dendy and MacD with YL

Link v YLink would probably be 45/55 in the matchup.

YLink has better matchups though.

Ive played both for many years, and I love YL so much more because of most of the stuff already said here. Hes faster so he can keep up with the current meta. AND he can wall jump.
