Who is this at the end of the reveal trailer? I never played Castlevania so I'm not sure if it's a Castlevania character or not.

Went back to watch the video again. Just saw her on the stage intro. Thanks.

Well, the problem with most of her other incarnations is that they're naked. So...there's that.

I think the crying mask look is just generally creepier than any other version they could have added.

Yeah, but it's not really representative of the character. She's supposed to be a vampire. So a giant flying stone mask doesn't really make sense.

It's basically just Medusa without the snakes.

In the original story Carmilla wore a mask to hide her vampiric nature and attended masquerades to choose her victims. So the floating mask is a representation of that.

Now, while she did have a mask in the story she did not at any point float around on a giant skull like she does often in the games.

Having a mask is not the same thing as BEING a mask. Yeah, she doesn't ride around on a skull in the stories, but at least SHE is there in those versions, so it's a better representation.

Those giant skulls are basically just referencing the giant mask in her first appearance anyway.

All of the enemies they revealed for Simon and Richter Belmont are from Castlevania. These include Phantom Bat, Medusa, Mummy Man, Frankenstein's monster and Igor, Grim Reaper, and Dracula. In Simon's Quest, that face you're referring to was called Vampira, and Grim Reaper was called Death. Of course, Vampira was given the name Camilla (Carmilla).
