Is there any chance Brawl ships early?

The Olympics and Galaxy I both believed shipped earlier then their announced date. Since Brawl has gone gold, will they go ahead and ship it already?

The thing is, stores ALWAYS get games 3 to 5 days early (if not earlier), they just cant sell them till a certain date. So if it takes 3 days to mail to you, I'm assuming some place like game stop would send it 3 days early so that it gets to you that day. Not to mention gamestop only ships UPS I think. They might fed-ex...though <_<?

To my knowledge, ship date doesn't really matter. I'm pretty sure the game stores aren't allowed to sell it (regardless of if they have it or not) before the release date. Also, I don't think Galaxy shipped early (my local EB Games didn't have it in the day it was released).

Sometimes local retailers can get the games early and can sell them if you pay cash (they aren't supposed to, but they can).

There will always be a few people that will get to play it early, its not really a big deal in my opinion

But it's very hard to track and punish these sort of things, so they happen all the time.

I only had it happen to me once, with Halo 2. If I recall correctly the game was supposed to come out in europe one day after the american release. But I ended up getting it a few days earlier. ^^

Always great these sort of things, and it doesn't really hurt anyone, does it? Perhaps a bit unfair, but it doesn't damage sales or anything.

It the game is street dated, stores will get the game early, usually by a week. They just are not suppose to sell it before the street date because they will get fined or worse. If the game is not street dated, it will come after Feb. 10th most likely. Also, in that case, the stores can pretty much sell it when they get it.

Last time I talked to a Nintendo rep at the store I work at, she told me that the game was NOT street dated YET. But that was a few weeks ago, and they could have changed it by now.

The stores in my area are having Brawl shipped on the 7th and 8th of Febuary, and are holding a midnight launch for the game.
Many gamestops host launches for popular games like this.
