Is Brawl the biggest? Or can it be expanded?

If Brawl sells well, Nintendo will be committed to it, in other words
Nintendo will be committed to it, and will probably do anything for the money all the brawl fans have.

You know u can get wi fi without adapters.
Yes, I know that, but many people will see the "Wi-Fi Combatible" sticker and assume that that is the only way to connect. A lot of people don't have a wireless internet connection to connect to either (me being one of them). Nintendo knows this and they will make sure they make sure their most popular game of the year has as many reasons to buy a Wi-Fi connector as possible.

There is zero reason to expect downloadable content. If it happens, cool, but it probably won't.
Brawl is internet compatible, that's one reason. Nintendo likes making money and making expansion packs will do that. There's two. This will likely be their most popular game ever, with a large fanbase, so a lot of people will buy it. Three. Nintendo won't be making another system for a while which probably means no new Super Smash Bros. and they know the fans will want a new experiance after 5 years. Four. Finally, the fans will be sending massive amounts of mail whining to them about how they forgot to addd a character or that character is broken and they might just want us to shut up. There's five.

After a while, they will probably put downloadable content in, think about it.
I'm thinking about it, and no, they probably won't. Since, you know, they've never done that before, ever. I'll put it just above the likelihood of them releasing a demo. You guys are thinking too much about what you want and not enough about what's actually likely to happen.

Everybody thinks that Brawl will be the biggest Smash yet.

So do I.

But why don't we think about it. How Brawl become even bigger?

Say hello to expansion packs. These expansion packs, in my mind, would add addition playable characters and stages. We could have many characters that didn't make the cut, in addition to stages. Plus, maybe more trophies/stickers/SSE levels.

What do you think?
yea if brawl is expanded its cool i guess more people that gets it the better.
if ray 01 is in brawl He will have to become an AT

I think downloadable content is highly possible. While they have not had downloadable ADD-ONS for any games yet, to say they have had no downloadable content at all ignores totally the whole virtual console thing.

So, yes, downloadable content is possible. The question is 'will they'.

Personally, I very much hope they will add extra characters later. It would only make Brawl an even more amazing game.

True, but that is a huge step for Nintendo but I too think Nintendo is capable of doing it.

I know of two Nintendo-published games that have had expansions--or at least in Japan: F-Zero X and Daigasso! Band Brothers

Just give us DLC.But since the online is free, I don't see the insentive to do so as very high unless Nintendo has a staff devoted to brawl, which I also, unfotunately, don't see.

I have a question: how would downloadable characters work during online battles? Could they easily implement a battle between one person with the downloaded character and another without the downloaded character?

I'd like a ranking system personally. I could care less about knowing where I stand in the world. I just don't like the possibility of a new smash player accidentally going up against tournament caliber players without warning. Discouragement might lead to the new player quitting, and this situation can realistically happen a generous amount of times.

I prefer to see our community expand to a wide group of new players, that's why.

I guess that's moot at this point, though.

People have enjoyed the game without online mode, and if they are not good at online mode in brawl they will enjoy the game without it again.

Also, the Subspace adventure mode, trophies, stickers, friends, and all the other new content should satisfy someone whether they are good on wifi or not.

Nintendo doesn't really do expansion packs as far as I know, but if they do that same old bull**** friend vouchers thing like they did in Metroid with Brawl I'll be pissed.

i really don't think they're going to do updates or expansions or DLC because that would require sakurai and his team to be constantly working on the game...for a long time, which i think is unlikely...

I think that the team will continue to work on the game for a good period of time, or at least consider doing it because of how popular the game is and how good it is.
