Ipod Volume disappeared

Forewarning-I'm illeterate in computer speak.

I'm at work, listening to music through headphones(my ipod is in my pocket) when the volume cuts out. The song is still playing, but when i unlock the screen the volume control on the now playing screen isn't there. The buttons on the side don't work either. I even went into the settings and turned the volume up that way. Was slightly audible, then cut back out. Does anyone have a way to fix this?

Have you tried restarting the iPod?

Didn't help. i heard the lock/unlock sound once, so the speakers not blown. Tried with and without headphones. No water got on it or anything


edit: the unlok sound is working continously, but thats it.

It was a l33t haxx0r that got into your iPod and trolled you. You know, similar to when a bored haxx0r messes with someone's CD drive.

That, or it was just a bug

Depending on which Ipod model you have, there is a way to reset it (different from restarting). I assume the Ipod Touch is similar to the Iphone where you hold down the lock button and home button until you see the Apple logo pop up. Might be other ways for the other devices.
