Importing Obj to Blender ends up in 2d Model instead of 3d model

I've recently got into the melee modding scene, and wanted to start off by importing a James Bonde 3d Model over Captain Falcon. The issue was, he was completely flat. So, I tried with a blood falcon skin off of models resource, which is also an obj file. I imported it, and again it was flat. Textures are there, the models are completely flat though. I am using Blender. I followed this tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAIsq7M9paI&list=LL&index=17). All the way up until I had to import the new model. I have done this before successfully, but it wasn't an .obj file.
