I live in Australia, and I noticed that the Europe release date of Brawl is set to July, meaning it won't be here til' about August or so. I'm a very impatient person, and can't wait the extra months; so I was wondering if there was a reliable Wii chip that would allow me to play Brawl if I imported it from the US in February, is there? Or is the only way to buy an American Wii aswell?

There are chips, but the risk is that if nintendo finds a way to detect if you have it, they could MAC-ban your console from getting online just like Microsoft did a while ago.

You could, however, buy an American Wii along with it, and get the necessary power adapter.

Wiikey is like $20 and very reliable. I recommend it.

I recommend CycloWiz. WiiKey and CycloWiz are the only two modchips that bypass the new detection method in Super Mario Galaxy. WiiKey's developers don't update the firmware much since the original developers of the chip left the project.

That's not true at all. The Wiikey firmware was updated less than 24 hours after Galaxy was leaked.

I have WiiKey aswell, but no Japanese games are working for me, but American ones are, well, some. It's a risk for me aswell, but if its not working, I'm importing a different Wii.

The chips will always runa risk of being detected and locked with system updates. IT'd be safer in the long run to get a US Wii.

Also, we don't know when Europe's getting Smash, other than from July onwards. I'm still holding out the hope that they'll pull an Animal Crossing, where Australia got it way before Europe.

yeah mic, even though it might be hard to import (since its so popular) and it's basically 250 dollars wasted, you should probably import from the US. But, from now on you'll be able to play all of the games waaaaay before they come out in Australia.

Hah, locked out of the internet from Nintendo. That's be terrible. Just go with the U.S. Wii and just import the game, you'll get it in like a month and you won't be attacked by Nintendo

guys, I understand that is probably the most feasible way, but come on, Wii's aren't cheap, and if you already have one, I can't really see buying a whole-nother one unless you're just bawlin like that
