Ike is crazy

Ike feels criminally overpowered to play against in elite matches. I literally cannot approach him if my life depended on it cuz all the Ike players i fight with constantly spam short hop attacks. His sword covers so much area and hits like a truck and his hits basically combo into each other. Anyone feelin the same way orrr??

Spamming an attack is like performing the same magic trick twice. And there's a reason why magicians generally refuse to do that.

Any person who has some skill points in learning/adaptability should be able to use their opponent's spam to their advantage to quickly figure out the trick, the patterns, and ultimately, how to beat the opponent.

Try picking up Ike yourself and copying your opponent's playstyle. When you get punished, take note of how the opponent was able to get through, and adopt it.

Ike has a lot of weaknesses. I.e. his disadvantage state and recovery. Try to abuse those.

You play Pac-Man? Set up a hydrant, camp and use some projectiles. That stuff will definitely beat mindless short hop aerials. And you can absolutely wreck his recovery, so if you're losing neutral, try to get him off stage and gimp him.
