This may be obvious, but Blue = Nintendo, Green = Third Party
I tried to do this based off characters I don't think will get in the base game.
Nintendo

• Impa: She's like the only main Zelda character, and DLC is her best bet at being unique. Plus, if any Zelda character is getting in base game it's Skull Kid.
• Edelgard: Not only is it likely, but I think DLC is the only way to get as little people to complain about a FE newcomer. And she has an axe!
• Rex: Elma is probably getting base game, and with Chronicles 2 being a super popular Switch game, Rex just makes sense. He would also be super unique with a Pyra and Mythra mechanic.
• Dixie Kong: Dixie Kong's best chance at being unique is probably DLC, which is why I chose her.
• Mipha: A BOTW champion would be super cool, and with Mipha being my personal favorite, I would choose her. Trident + water powers? Awesome!
• Spring Man: ARMS is pretty fun game (sadly suffers the same problems as Aces, with very little fun, single player content but I digress), and Spring Man makes the most sense for a character.
• Ayumi Tachibana: She would be super cool retro character, with a weird and fun moveset.

Thirdy Party

• Sir Arthur: A personal choice, but he was a pretty big arcade/NES character. Plus, he has great moveset potential.
• Earthworm Jim: A very popular retro character, with great moveset and amazing personality that would be perfect in Smash.
• 2B: Never played the game, but Nier: Automata was a very big game last year. Don't think it's likely, but she'd be cool.
• Amaterasu: Not as big as Phoenix Wright, but a very popular Capcom character with much better moveset potential than Mr. Wright. Okami was also ported to the Switch recently.
• Boy and Blob: A personal, 100% biased choice that I only want in the game for personal reasons.
• Dovahkiin: Bethesda has been pretty friendly with Nintendo recently, and Skyrim is one of my favorite games of all time.
• Arle Nadja: She could represent puzzle games greatly, and Puyo Puyo has been pretty popular.
