Then I say let the men of all men, Shigeru Miyamoto, personally oversea all of Brawl's development from here on end. Not saying that Sakurai isn't doing a good job, but I'm trying to play this game sometime this century.

Remember when Twilight Princess got delayed so many times because who ever was making that game wasn't making fast enough? Well I do, and Miyamoto had to step in and hurry things along. I believe the same thing is going to happen. My sixth sense tells me so.

Well, what do you guys think. Discuss!

Delays are made so that they can work on the game and make it as near to perfection as they can. Just look at how much OoT was delayed, in comparison SSBB's delay is nothing. IMO a 2 month delay is definitely worth it if its going to make the game vastly better.

I say let the developers take as long as they need. Another year or two of waiting is worth it if we plan to play the game for six or seven years.

If there was a delay, Sakurai should stay, but I demand 3 things.

1. A demo, however small.
2. Alt. Costumes
3. An online ranking system (So matches are always balanced instead of being lopsided)

Ok, first of all Jeff Corwin is the man of all men.

Second of all, I wouldn't be surprised if Miyamoto hasn't stepped in already. I mean, Sakurai clearly knows what he's doing. I'm sure that the problems with TP were much different than the ones they're having with Brawl.

If there is going to be another delay, it would have to be right around this time.

Around 2 months till release, just like last time.

If we make it to January, chances are slim that it'll be delayed again.

But if it IS delayed again, I'm getting a 360.

Sakurai knows that this will be the last smash bros for the nintendo wii.. and that it will be a long time before the next console for nintendo comes... so hes trying to implement as much as he can in brawl ( well as much as the disk can hold) so that we can have a lengthy and amazing game..

yeah. but i still hope theres no delay

A whole nother year?! No way bro, Sakurai and his team have been working on this game for a good two years already. There is absolutely no excuse what so ever for not getting everything done in the month of February.

And another thing, if the game just so happens to get delayed yet again, then Sakurai should make it so that there is no lag when we play someone far away overseas.

no other game has made me so scared for a delay. Mario Galaxy got delayed for like a year ( I think it was supposed to be a launch title) but I didn't mind and that time past by so quick... The time period between us getting the first Launch date for brawl seemed to move quick... but after the launch date appeared time slowed down!!... but the updates were coming in so good... then we got a delay... and soon the drought...

Another delay would crush alot of people.

Sakurai can do all he wants to a game, but I don't think he can manipulate physics. Anyway, this game has been in development for over two years. Another delay would be somewhat ridiculous.

On top of that, Sakurai is one of Nintendo's best. I don't think anyone would take over for him.

I say that if Sakurai gives us two or three (something around these numbers) characters that aren't on my most wanted list and that's it, then yeah delay the game because I want it chalk full of heavy hitters, preferably villains. You know exactly who I'm talking about. Wolf, Dark Samus, Liquid Snake, Black Knight, Vaati, Sylux, and Ridley.

I wonder two things:
* How much longer they'll be able to give daily Brawl updates. (Seriously, they can only take us through the options menu so many times)
* How we'll be cushioned for it, now that they've used up their Sonic-Trump card.

I don't think another delay is in order I personally believe that Brawl was delayed to allow SMG to take a lot of the Mario franchise sales.

At e for all there didn't appear to be any major game play glitches or anything that would cause system instability (I wasn't there, but I did look for threads that said that) The gameplay looked smooth. All they need to do probably is do some balance testing and make sure there are no noticable bugs.

I do not think the game will be delayed based on the evidence that I have observed.

Japan gets Brawl in a little over a month.

Most likely, Sakurai and his team are adding finishing touches right now so they can produce the billions upon billions of copies they'll need for the Japan release.

And we're closer to the release than we were when the delay was announced for the old release. I don't think he'd delay it again. :\

Remember when Twilight Princess got delayed so many times because who ever was making that game wasn't making fast enough? Well I do, and Miyamoto had to step in and hurry things along. I believe the same thing is going to happen. My sixth sense tells me so.
Some quick points:

-Miyamoto was involved with Twilight Princess as a producer basically from the very start. Go read the TP Iwata Asks Series for a background on the game and why it didn't release on time.

-Twilight Princess was never technically 'delayed', as it was never given a release date. We expected it in Fall 2006 and Nintendo did nothing to dissuade us from that thought, but it's not like Brawl where we got the December 3rd date and it slipped from there. Semantics aside though, there was one TP 'delay'. In August 2006 when we first learned of the delay, they said only that it would release in the following fiscal year [i.e. sometime after March 2007]. It released sometime after March 2007. One delay, end.

-There is no one, absolutely no one who knows more about or is better suited to being in charge of Brawl's development than Sakurai. No one. Miyamoto is undoubtedly involved in some fashion as he is in pretty much every Nintendo published game, but this is Sakurai's title and you should be grateful that it is.

I wonder two things:
* How much longer they'll be able to give daily Brawl updates. (Seriously, they can only take us through the options menu so many times)
If he intended to profile every single insignificant thing in the game, I don't doubt he could keep the updates going every weekday until next summer, easily. He's only given us 8 pokeball pokemon updates, and Melee had something like 30 of them in the game [most of which were not in the original]. Consider how many songs are likely to be in this game given the enormous list in the Musicians update, and then compare that to the dozen or so songs he's already revealed. Then there's Assist Trophies to reveal, more stages, characters, how to play, gameplay modes [just from Melee we're still missing Multi-man/Cruel Melee, All-Star Mode, VS Mode types, etc], and subspace emissary story updates. Hell, he could start making updates for random gameplay clips for all it would matter.
* How we'll be cushioned for it, now that they've used up their Sonic-Trump card.
Uh, the game is going to be out. You'll be able to play it. Remind me again why he needs to cushion us, again?

I say there should be another delay only if my theory of the drought is true. And that is....if and only if Sakurai is running low on what characters to put on Brawl. Right now che....the whole character roster is so incomplete.

I doubt the game will be delayed again. The only reason they delayed was to work on the Wifi system a bit more. Too bad it did get delayed or we'd be playing the game right now.

The only reason you say....interesting...

Still though, Sakurai and his team of flunkies could have still found out that some other things are wrong with the game. It could be anything. That and he could do some last minute tweaking and touch ups.

And I still think he delayed the game to get atleast 1 more third party character in the mix before the release date.

Ah, but I was going along with this post's theme, what if the game were delayed, again? I know they won't, but what would they use to keep the riots off the streets with if they did?

You'll be able to play it.
That's assuming I get a Wii, which I sadly don't have right now :(

I sincerely hope there won't be another delay. If we can make it through December without one I don't see one coming at all. It comes out in late January in Japan, remember.

If there's another delay i'll throw sakurai off a building shouting: YOU MUST RECOVER
LOL.

Anyways, I doubt there will be a delay.

If there was, I'm sure he can cushion us with a royal flush of updates in a single day consisting of;

1. [Insert your most wanted character here]
2. Wi-fi chat
3. Online ranking
4. 50 characters
5. Alternate Costumes

Yeah, we all remember that. And as a result Twilight Princess ended up being a huge let down. You can tell right where things started to get rushed, because everything after Arbiter's Grounds is short and linear.

If Brawl is rushed, we'll have a lousy one-time play through game that all hardcore fans will do is wish it was better.
