If Brawl were to be delayed, wouldn't it have been announced already?

After looking at Panda's thread of Brawl not to have gone gold (well, at least officially), wouldn't have Sakurai said that Brawl was delayed like 2-3 weeks ago? After all, Brawl is going to be released in about 26 days for Japan.


I am not sure if any other developers have delayed games this close to the release date, but if not, I think that Brawl is coming out without anymore delays...

No one with a grip on reality believes that SSBB will be delay at this point. It's literally 3 1/2 weeks until the game comes out, it would be way too close to the launch date for them to delay the game. There also hasn't been much proof (or anything at all) pointing to another delay.

That is basically my point about there being a delay. As far as I know (and feel free to correct me), but most major games are delayed a couple months before the release date, not 25 days....

I would honestly be flabbergasted if the game were to suffer yet ANOTHER delay--especially at this point, three weeks prior to the Japanese release. Seems like everyone's getting a case of the Henny-Pennies. Calm down: the game will be out soon enough.

I just hope we get one more gameplay video or character confirmation before or on the date of the Japanese release. I'll be cooler to see the cascade of info play out on the DOJO than to try to catch it all on lame youtube videos on launch day...

I doubt this would happen with Brawl though; it's a lot more important to mess up something like that.

I HIGHLY doubt Brawl we'll be delayed again, I also doubt I could survive an other delay .
Seriously though folks. We are in the home-stretch. Little over a month till the US release, and only a few weeks till Japan release day. I doubt Sakurai would drop a delay on us now, the game is all but complete. I agree with what most people have said, everyone's just a little on edge. We can all relax, specially if we've got a preordered copy! Besides, to play the devil's advocate and say something went HORRIBLY wrong, the delay couldn't be THAT long really. It's all good. We can sit back and just wait for February 10, or January 24 (but tahts just info, we won't actually have our hands on the game!).

Just because they're not making copies yet doesn't mean they need more dev. time.
This is NINTENDO.
They have the resources to have a copy of brawl for everyone in Japan ready in under 2 weeks.
It's not going to take a month for them to make a few million discs.
Besides, low stock means higher prices means <profit for the retailers means more nintendo games carried.

I honestly don't see purpose delaying the game again would serve. Unless they're rushing to develop some kind of peripheral for voice-chat, or delaying it so they can work out the rights for 3rd-party characters, I don't see what would be gained by it.

Persona 3 was delayed 2 days before release for about 2 or 3 weeks due to a problem with the art book that came along with it. Point is if another delay happens it will not be a very long one.
