First of all - yes, I realize NO anime or manga character will make it in Brawl. I fully realize this. Thank you.

Now, this thread is about IF an anime/manga character would make it in Brawl, WHICH ONE? This is just for fun, so pick whoever you want! It'd be nice if you could give a little explanation. And... A GOOD explanation please. So please no "OMFG NARUTO BECUZ HE IS TEH COOLEST". You could, y'know, put a little bit of thought into it? Maybe provide pictures for those unfamiliar with the character? Ideas for moves? Do what you want.

Anyway, let's hear some ideas of mine...

KENSHIRO (Fist of the Northern Star/Hokuto no Ken/Hokuto Shinken)

Kenshiro. Easy, eh? Kenshiro has mastered the Kung-Fu style of Hokuto Shinken, allowing him to destroy his opponents from the inside. This leads to insane possibilities, insane killing, exploding heads, skeletons ripped out of bodies and killing people with his thumbs! Kenshiro is also a mighty fine badass, with his heart in the right place.

Here's a small moveset I made:

B: Frying Pan: Uses a frying pan and a ladel to make a loud noise. Anyone close enough receives damage.

Side B: Knife Fake-Out: A Close range attack when she grabs the opponent and takes out a knife. Then, she realizes that she's failed and the opponent is left in a shield broken state.

Down B: Sata-Andagi! : Takes an Okinawan donut out and then tosses it at the opponent. Occasionally, it'll explode.

Up B: Chiyo's Pigtails: Pulls out a pair of pigtails that give her the power of flight. Works a lot like Pit's Wings of Icarus but she can't attack.

Final Smash: Flight of the Bonkura: She summons the other two Bonkura, Tomo and Kagura, to help her fight. These two will fly with a pair of Chiyo Pigtails for each of them.

If i could choose anyone, I'd go with Alucard(from Hellsing).
He just has so many powers to build a moveset off of that it'd be too difficult to decide which. his ^B could be a basic teleportation, >B being a shot/shots from his trademark .454, standard B a vampiric bite, and down B a transformation?(he can shape shift into a lot of different things).
His final smash to call a familiar to assist him for a while in the fight.

yoh from shaman king. his ability to control a spirit of a dead samarai to add to his power is awsome as it is, but the moves he can pull off such as the shock wave slash and bringing up that shield are even better. he could easily work in the game. I also am personaly glad he cant make it in no matter how much I like him, anime characters and video game characters just dont mix.

If ANY anime character got in, it would be Goku. You just can't deny the popularity of Dragon Ball.

That being said, my ideal anime brawler would have to be Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist. He would be somewhat light but with excellent attack speed, and more powerful alchemical specials.
My other picks would be Yoh Asakura (Shaman King) and Kenshin (Rurouni Kenshin).

Doraemon at all. He could perform an infinite number of funny moves by all his strange gadgets.
Just for example he could use his reducing torch (one of his most used ones) to shrink his opponents, and his teleporting door (another frequently used gadget) to move himself above and hitting his opponents by slamming the door in their face (like in Mappy).

Sailor moon, she is like the female version of goku when it comes to popularity, really the boy like goku, and the girls like sailor moon. Well I am a boy but Goku is already mentioned, I actually like sailor moon. I think she has good potential in smash if they would include anime characters.

I even see some moves using her tiara, and the various wand she gets threw the series. And he FS could be she changes to super sailor moon, or eternal sailor moon either is fine.

She can also bring a larger female audience to the franchise, if they where to put anime charecters.

really, the way I look at it, is IF an anime/manga character would get in, it would have to be one that has done a LOT for anime/manga as a whole, BUT is also popular enough that he would be accepted by most people.

I would label Dragon Ball Z up there, because it pretty much was the show that EVERY boy was watching as a kid, as well as one of the most popular series today. it was also the basis for the epic fight scenes in todays anime. some people might not like that, and thats fine, but the fact is that it DID have a huge impact on the industry as a whole, and even today is seen as one of the most ground breaking series of all time... of course, there are MANY other ground breaking ones, but this is all I can remember right now...

now, personally, this goes against my personal preference. while I like DBZ and everything (yeah, I said I like it. so what? wanna fight about it?), but the characters I would prefer are much different... to name a few...

- Haruhi Suzumiya (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)

U-Air Laser Spray Astro Boy Wave his arm and small blue balls of light come out. Similar to Samus. Less area but more power.
D-Air Jet Spike
F-Air Laser Field Astro Boy, with his big creepy smile claps his hands, pulls them back and a Magic sprite animation appears in front of him. It's knock the opponent behind them.
B-Air Meteor Elbow Leans back and elbows opponent.

B - Charge or Counter Astro Boy charges any incoming energy projectiles are turned into one charge, he can use up to three. When he starts the attack, anyone in the immediate area is hurt, High Knockback, low damage. Hold down to continue to charge.
Up-B - Dash Astro Boy Dashes in the direction you choose. Similar to Quick Attack, only slower, no invisibility, can chain up to 3 max, and is completely vulnerable. Slower Speed means easier to control.

Smash-B - Finger Laser. Astro Boy sends out a single short laser ray. This will always hit for 5 attacks and cause the enemy to fall down if on ground and immediately tumble if in air. Hold down to use a charge, which increases the size of the blast and changes the color. VERY Low rapid fire rate start. Will stall your fall slightly if used in air. Using all 3 charges = fully powered Arm Cannon
Down-B - ...

Grab - The Enemy is held in place by electricity as AstroBoy Simple holds out an open Glowing Blue Palm, Infused with kinetic energy
A - Laser Hand Astro Quickly pimpslaps the enemy twice with a glowing blue hand.
Up - Blue Fist Repulse Give the enemy a blue handed uppercut, then shoots them straight up on an arm cannon ray.
Down - Stabs the enemy with an open hand, and releases multiple hits. They collapse to the floor.
Forward - Punches the enemy in the stomach, then points at them with his left and right hand as they fly away, slightly upward, orbs of blue laser light attack on after another.
Back - Astro Boy turns the enemy to his back, and tackles him to the ground, stabbing him once more then exploding. This is the only attack that does any damage. As they fall back, if near the edge they will fall to their death. Suicide move.
