i dont know if this has been said and if it has im sorry but

if you look at the target smash update and the co-op events update in the screens you can tell that item spawns in the target test are not random, they are the same items in the same place in both screens, though it is harder to see them in the target smash update just look hard and youll see.

you can see the crate and cracker launcher but the beam sword and fan kinda blend in

I was about to berate you, but then I read your post a second time and you're right.

Pretty good find.

Nice job. I remember that everyone was wondering about this when BTT was confirmed.

Well, if you're right (which it seems like you are), it will open many new ways and possibilities to become really good at target test.

Nice find.
Actually, I never really noticed those items in there :p

Nice discovery.
I hope that this also will be possible in Versus-Matches. Therefore noone could say getting an item would be luck, anymore. (Of course the items shouldn´t appear right at the beginning of the fight and you should be able to turn this function off).

PLEASE SAKURAI!!! :urg:

good find, i knew there'd be items but maybe only a select few, like one crate and one cracker launcher etc. per time. like you play target test, and you have one crate, a fan a c. launcher and only one of each, same place each time you go there. i've also noticed that bolth times, it showed meta knight. perhaps different items for each charicter?

The item spawn points were in set places in melee, but which point an item spawned at was random, and that will pobrably be the same in Brawl. It's still luck.

Hmmm. I guess that makes sense. (Red targets > green targets by the way)

What if the items just randomly spawned there, and then P1 hit Start/Pause to pull the screen back like that?
Hmmm.

I overlooked that 2nd screenshot on the Dojo anyway.

Items might break the targets though. We need to ban them from tournament play.

GENIUS!
When I saw items in BTT, I was upset. There isn't any more perfection of technique, coming up with the fastest way to do each person's test. It's all luck! And without individual stages, it's going to be dominated by a fast character with a fast, predictable projectile (Fox dominates AGAIN!?!?).
After all, arguably the best thing about BTT is that there were no tiers, because characters were based on themselves and themselves alone: The stage was perfectly tailored to testing them. Without that, BTT loses its biggest appeal.
Then I saw items, and blew a fuse. Not only did they take out the thing that made each test unique and removed the tiers, they added RANDOMNESS. Now you just LRA-ST as pit until you spawn next to a smash ball and call out your army.

But this discovery that THE SAME ITEMS spawn in THE SAME PLACES turns that whole thing on its ear. It's not a random luckfest. You now also have to form strategies around how to use each item to your advantage.

I'd rather each character had their own stage and there were a few generic ones for co-op, but fixed items is a good idea.

Didn't he say that would happen in the original post?

Guess not.. But i guess I just assumed they wouldnt be random spawns.

(The rolling crate was placed perfectly to hit 3 or 4 targets on the way down)

No it´s not as long as you now when and where it will spawn. It´s not going to be in the game, but this option would be really cool.

Meh, it makes sense to me cause you can get 10 straight bomb-ombs and get all of the targets in like 10 sec. Nice find though.

Yeah, I was hoping for the individualized maps again. I guess they couldn't construct 40 or so different ones for the potential amount of characters in the game.

Woah, Woah, Woah,

Hold up a bit,

You're telling me that I was one of the only ones who jumped to the conclusion that they would be integrated into the level from the start? And not just random like every else seemed to think..?

some ppl where really pissed that the sanctity of btt was broken with items, and even more with the thought that they could be random, thats why i put this up, to get it settled. items are not random on btt.

It's not like they would allow us to control the [frequency of] items in BtT. If items just fell in random places the camera would stretch and more often than not they'd land away from your character.

Thanks for putting this up. I never really noticed. That was a really good find! Seems we could use these items to our advantage (eg: Throwing them)! That is if we can use them.
