Hi there!
I'm new to Smashboards.
Currently I have a copy on hand.
The game stores in Hong Kong are selling them 2 days early.
I've been playing it for a couple of hours so I've still to unlock the characters.

Anyways I'm glad to answer any questions you all have.
As I only play smash casually,
I probably won't be able to answer technical questions
(eg. wave dash, chain grabs, etc.)

Can we get confirmation as to /how much/ of a clone Dark Pit is? I've seen in some places that he's an identical clone, while other sources say that he's "Brawl Pit". Any detail on this?

Falco's specials appears to be the same
I don't have his custom specials unlocked yet...
His up-smash animation is different
Other than that I don't really notice any differences
Again I'm only a casual player, his down-air still spikes tho~

How strong is Dr. Mario's forward air? How much range does his forward smash have?

I've only tried Dark Pit(Black Pit? in japanese version) a little bit.
I was curious to as how the clones are different.
It seems his moves are very identical (not sure about custom moves as i've yet to unlock them)
One thing is for sure, his final smash is different.
- one shot snipe similar to Sheik's arrow
For normal Pit it's the massive spam attack as you all may already know

Again i'm only a casual player.
But Dark Pit seems a bit slower and stronger. (the slower part maybe it's just me...)
I only compared his arrow attack.
(N-special) has way less curve at the end compared to Vanilla Pit.
Full charged at same distance via training mode.
Dark Pit - 10%
Vanilla Pit - 8%
So his other attacks should be stronger.

And his side-special is cosmetically different. (Dash upper???)

That's a bit disappointing. It's nice to have confirmation on the D-Air spike though. Thanks for answering

Sorry for repeating myself, but I really would like to have this answered:

It's Captain Falcon's Side Special. In Brawl, you would be unable to do anything but fall if you used it on the air or near a ledge.

Regarding Captain F's side special.
If done on the ground missed - he trips a little but his wake up is quite fast
If done on the air missed - he falls down twirling during the twirling animation you can't input other actions.

It appears so. It seems d-pad is locked for taunts.
Besides its difficult to smash without the thumb stick.
In addition, it seems you can't have more than one button per action.
You can only move them around to which button you'd like to map.
- Grab x 1
- Shield x 1
- Jump x 2
- Attack x 1
- Special x 1

Whenever you unlock him, can you confirm Bowser Jr's alternate costumes are the other Koopalings and if the names change with the costume change (and the announcer also says their actual name vs Boswer Jr.)?

Actually i would like to know as well.
Because I've finished simple mode(classic mode) for about 5 characters.
It just stopped unlocking.
I'm actually watching some streams while playing so I'm guessing you're right.
It probably has something to do with the number of matches or stages played.
