Koei Tecmo, in their yearly financial results, have revealed something almost nobody expected: Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity has become the top selling Warriors title through shipping over 3.5 million copies world wide. A few other updates on other Tecmo Koei titles, including the newest entries in the Atelier and Romance of the Three Kingdom series were posted, but for Nintendo fans, this is easily the highlight of the reporting. A report on GameIndustry.biz says that this is a 324 percent increase compared to Hyrule Warriors.
The previous Warriors games Tecmo Koei did are the previous Hyrule Warriors, and Fire Emblem: Warriors. It is very possible that Tecmo Koei and Nintendo will continue collaborating together. They have already shown interest in Pokemon, Mario, and allegedly Star Fox (Thank you NintendoLife and GamesRadar!). Either way, for a game only coming out two months ago, these numbers are astonishing.
Author's Note: Wow. That's... way more copies than I had expected. The game only came out in November. What a craze, right?
