Hypothetical ruleset for Stamina Battle tourneys?

I;m no tourney expert, but I wanted to ask a hypothetical question. If I was hosting a Smash tournament that was purely Stamina battles, what's the recommended ruleset? I wanna keep it at a consistent pace.

I could picture them being two stock battles to match with the usual "best of three" round system in 2D fighters.
