So people in the General Smash discussion were talking about these so I thought why not make a whole thread for one?



The game is simple. I'll say a list of characters and the next person will quote my post and say their reactions/thoughts on the characters getting in.

Then, that person will provide their own list of characters (minimum 3, maximum 10).

And the next person will quote that post, give their opinions, make their own list, and then the next person does, and it goes on.

Try to do characters that haven't been mentioned yet, and try to go off of the latest post, but its fine if you do one from earlier.
For echoes, make sure to specify which character it could be an echo of.

Golisopod: I'd be surprised but not against it. I would be sad Incineroar isn't in, but Golisopod looks like it'd be cool.
Yooka-Laylee: Why not Banjo and Kazooie?? They would probably be my least favorite newcomer (nothing against them or the game tho)
Steve: I wouldn't like it but I'd move on quickly. I'd also have to eat a lot of my words.
Master Chief: I think it'd be weird considering there's never been a Halo game on a Nintendo console, but I'd get used to it.
Marx: Sweet, the best Kirby villain not in Smash yet. My first choice would've been Bandana Dee, but I like Marx a lot.
Phoenix Wright: It'd be a surprise, but a welcome one.
Sylux: Three Metroid newcomers??? Holy crap!! After that initial shock, I'd just hope he's unique.

Dr. Luigi: I'd probably stick with an alternate costume for him.
Tingle: Interesting character in Hyrule Warriors. Odd choice, but I could see it.

Pious Augustus: Wow, an Eternal Darkness character! He's got a pretty unique badass look, although he stands out a lot. Kinda neat.

Urban Champion: Honestly would be disappointed. As characters go he's got very little potential. Punches a bit I guess but that's the bare minimum.

Mouser: Kind of like Mouser, but I'd prefer Bomberman filling his niche...damn I do miss Mouser and Wart though...

Henry Flemming: Pretty excited actually. Would be interested in seeing how they implement the STEAM system.

Eggplant Wizard: My preferred Kid Icarus enemy. Not before Medusa, but the idea of turning everyone into vegetables on legs is fun

Donkey Kong Jr: Worthwhile DK character. We have two Marios, two Samus', two Zeldas(one in ninja getup) and THREE Links. Two versions of Donkey Kong wouldn't bother me, although Dixie first please.

Ella Mentree: I'd laugh, but kind of be charmed. Ella was always my favourite Mii character outside Nikki.

Ryu Hayabusa: Not a fan myself. Ryu always felt like the most generic ninja to me and we got Sheik doing that thing already.

................ Another Gen 1 rep? I mean we have Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Mewtwo, Pokemon Trainer(Who has Squirtle, Ivysaur and Charizard), I just don't think Meowth is necessary. Much rather see a Gen 3, Gen 5 or Gen 7 Pokemon get in.

Played Breath of the Wild and she seems like a cool character. Her lightning attacks would be cool,
-Mallow. I can see Geno but not Mallow. I doubt we would get two Mario RPG characters and if we were to get more characters from Square, wouldn't 2-B or a Dragon Quest character make more sense. Still, a fighter who's a cloud would be neat. A match between him and Cloud would be amazing.
-Dillon. Whilst he is getting a new game, his previous one didn't gather that much attention. Probably will be an Assist again if he's in the game. I wouldn't mind him however he would be cool.
-Kiran.
Do we really need another FE rep? Like, we already have seven of them. I get that it's popular but, can't we just hand a rep to a series that hasn't gotten a new one in ages like Zelda, Kirby, F-Zero, Earthbound/Mother etc?
-Doshin.
Oh yeah, that super weird Gamecube game that was exclusive to Japan. Well if everyone thought Ridley was too big, then I don't know how everyone would react to Doshin. I mean at least sizing down Ridley doesn't matter that much, but Doshin's attribute is being a giant. Kind of ruins the character by sizing him down. I wouldn't mind him as an Assist, however.

I heard Nintendo Land was really good. Too bad it was exclusive to the Wii U so not many people got to play it. It'd be cool to see it get represented in Smash with maybe even a Switch Port.
-DK crew(Lanky, Tiny and Chunky.
................. Doubt we'd get a DK character like this. I think only Pokemon Trainer would have the character swap gimmick, to stand out more. Even then Dixie or Kranky makes more sense for the new DK rep.

Tails- I've actually never been too big of a fan of him. I'd much rather have Eggman or Knuckles for a new unique sonic character, but I'd understand adding him.

Shadow- Back in Brawl he was one of my most wanted characters by far, so to finally get him a decade later would be awesome

Sora- Have no connection to Kingdom Hearts, but he looks cool so I'd be down

Adeleine and Ribbon- I'd much rather have BWD, Marx, Gooey, or even Dark Meta Knight first

Infernape- If we were to get another fire starter, I would definitely prefer Blaziken and probably even Incineroar first. But he is a flame monkey so I'd probably warm up to it.
