How To Watch Cen-Cal Standoff

cencal.jpg

Always nice to see a Smash Bros. tournament in the doldrums of February. This weekend, Saturday-Sunday 24-25, is the second installment of Cen-Cal Standoff. Held in Fresno, California, Cen-Cal Standoff hosts Super Smash Bros. Wii U, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, Dragon Ball FighterZ, and Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition (note to Street Fighter fans: Blanka is banned).

Smash Melee fans might be somewhat disappointed by a tournament with only 40 entrants as of this writing, and Smash Wii U only has about 20 more than that, but fighting game fans in general should be watching carefully to see how the Dragon Ball FighterZ bracket stacks up. It’s a somewhat smaller tournament, but even with five games, the event should fit neatly into the two day span allotted. Games will be run in their entire bracket on the same day that they begin; Street Fighter and Marvel will be done on Saturday, and the other three events will be done on Sunday.

The event schedule can be found here, and the event will be streamed on twitch.tv/prominencegc, twitch.tv/kerncountyesports, and twitch.tv/jtails.
