Btw, another alternative to Excel is OpenOffice, which is also free.

And the hex numbers whose format you were unsure about are 32-bit (single-precision) signed floats. Which is a method of storing a large range of both positive and negative numbers. You can convert those to decimal using the calculator in the tools tab of MCM, or online converters such as this.
