i dont have any nunchucks to add with the remote (which seems like the best controller type) so ill have to play brawl with only the wii remote.. but i cant imagine how to get used to jumping with [up] like the control settings are on DOJO..
anyone have any suggestions on how i can play with a wii remote, jumping with a button, but still everything fitting ?

GCN controller problem solved.

Wait, why don't you have a nunchuck? It comes with the Wii.

I think the wiimote-nunchuck combo will be the best. Allowing more buttons to be used by the left hand as well as shake smashing will provide a powerful combo in my opinion.

What do you you guys think?

Testing guitar hero controller first :s

Green: Jump
Red: Standard Attack
Yellow: Special Attack
Blue: Shield
Orange: Z-Grab

Dunno what I would do with the Whammy bar... but I would figure out something.

Anyway, if that doesn't work, I would probably use the GCN, but... A would be jump... not X and Y...

@Fire: I plan to use the wiimote+nunchuck as well. If I run out of batteries, I'll input a second name for the gamecube controller :]

@Chaosblade: How do you plan to move, you'll get owned in half the stages without enemies even attacking you lol.

i think shake smash is going to be lame. a failed (i could be wrong obviously) attempt at making it seem like brawl has some of the motion sensor lame-ness that get tacked on to most games.

if a game uses the wii-mote motion sensor in a good way it can turn out amazing (super mario galaxy) but usually that's not the case.

also, GCN controller ftw! i'm pretty sure the majority of people who played melee will use this.

I was just about to say that.

And yeh dude, use the GCN or buy the Classic Controller.
If he is gonna buy the Classic controller why doesn't he just buy a nunchuk?

Lol I wanted to try the guitar too just to see if it would work. You can't reaisticly play like that but I'm sure someone will somehow go pro playing with it and be the GH controller guy.

I'm sorry, but no. There is no way you can play with a simple Wiimote and expect to be good. You're going to have to scrounge up another $20 and get one of the other controller options. Like someone said earlier, how can you not have a Nunchuck to go with you're Wiimote? They come with your Wii. Welcome to the boards, by the way.

He wants A to be jump. Oh man, I can't wait to play him.
Tap jumps in 64, it carried over to Melee. You have no freaking idea how hard I tried to get used to using X and Y for jumps, I spent weeks upon weeks of trying to break myself of the habit, but for some stupid reason I would always have a moment of dyslexia and hit A for jump and Y for my attack. So I would swap them for Brawl, and turn tap jump off to force myself.

I finally gave up and have stuck to tap jumps though because I just couldn't hit the buttons right for some reason... something just didn't work right. (and because of that there are so many flaws when I play).

It has a control stick above the Wii remote slot.

They *have* to give you a nunchuck or you can't even play Wii Sports. You probably threw yours away, man.
