Well hello there. Welcome to my guide on how to make a machinima using Super Smash Bros. Brawl. There are lots of questions revolving this and I thought I'd clear things up for you guys. Please comment and if you have any questions please ask away!
II. [How do I make a Machinima?]
Okay, before you even think about making a machinima, you should know what it is. A machinima is a short film put together using Video Game footage and voice acting.
Typical machinima games include Halo, Gears of War, etc. Mostly FPS games with a replay feature and a free camera. SSBB is not viewed as a game that is easy to make Machinimas with. But it's definitely not impossible and where there's a will, there's a way.
SO, let's start with the guide!
III. [The 5 steps]
When making a machinima, there are 5 simple steps that you must follow:
1. Create your story
2. Create your scenes
3. Record your scenes
4. Add your voices
5. Finalize your machinima
I STRONGLY suggest that you do them in this order.
IV. [Step 1: Create your story]
Don't even think about creating your machinima before you have it planned out.
You should choose:
A) What Type of Machinima you want to make
i) Comedy
ii) Action/Adventure
There are other genres, but these 2 are the most successful.
B) What characters you want to include
C) The length of your Machinima
i) A short one, around 3 minutes
ii) A longer one, around 8 minutes
D) If you want to make a series with many episodes and seasons, or just a couple of short films that are not connected to each other.
Now, create a script with all your lines and camera shots.
And that's my formula for a good story.
