Hey guys, I've been a long time smash player who never really searched out for more information as to where to go to meet other players, how to get involved, or even how I can find good practice partners near me. I was wondering if anyone could provide links or insight as to the best places to do all this stuff. I live in South Georgia now, and just want to have a community to practice with and get better. Thanks!

There are tons of Facebook Smash Groups, each corresponding to a region/city. You can probably find one depending on the city (or region if you're willing to travel out of state) you live in/near.

Hit up Facebook and try to narrow it down to your specific geographic region. Tournaments, and also smash fests which are pretty much just endless amounts of friendlies. Good practice and no pressure.

Melee is far from an inactive community. Likewise, you can just run Netplay if your computer is good enough, but I recommend actually playing smash with real people. It's an experience you miss out on if you just stay in your house all day. Best of luck.

The most active online smash community is probably on reddit.com/r/smashbros. They also have a list of Facebook groups by region here, so you can look up your local Facebook page and connect with local players there.
