It’s simple, in DTW, go to “character graphical effects” (near the top), and there is a section that says “Mario”. Open it up and import the textures you want to use!

I have a github repository with retextured coins for mario and luigi along with full dat fills with almost all animations replaced
i also made a custom script to locate animation offsets along with a detailed readme and even youtube tutorials that are under 10 mins on how to do it without having to read years worth of old smash posts.
