I’m having trouble with all of the links in ultimate. Getting this match up is just frustrating at this point.

Link can projectile spam if your far away or combo start off a close range projectile. Then if your lucky enough to get through that then he has his tilts which can cover angles and can combo at low percents for major damage.

How the heck do you get in on this guy?

My initial advice is to change your mindset around "approaching".

Approaching doesn't have to be done in one move, or all at once. Your first goal should be to close distance so that it becomes unsafe for Link to use projectiles. Then, once he starts using them, you're close enough to finish closing the gap and punish. If he stops using them, then you've "approached", since he's no longer just throwing stuff at you and is forced to actually box with you.

Use your movement as a punishment. Taking away space and cutting off options doesn't seem like a "punishment" since you're not hitting Link, but making him stop doing what he wants to do is really what your goal is.

If he's comboing you off of a close range projectile, it means you walked into it or aren't paying enough attention to the startup on the projectiles. Keep your eyes on Link -- you shouldn't need to watch yourself or a projectile that's already been launched.
